It's always worth a laugh, until it happens to you. When all your downloaded goods all the sudden don't work right because your system failed and MS replaced it. Now your downloads are not tied to your new system. Take your system to a friend's house to "show off" the 360 and watch how they laugh at you and are in disbelief when nothing works.

Next you try to play your arcade games and they all show up as Trials. Even when you're plugged into Live, some of them won't work properly (the sega titles) and some of your downloaded materials don't function properly either (Rainbow Six Vegas maps). Frustration does not even begin to describe what you feel. You honestly feel violated. MS has our money, we gladly gave it to enjoy the downloaded goods. All of the sudden, we can't enjoy them the way they were meant to because MS replaced our faulty systems. Hmmmmm......

While MS is working on this (took me since August to get some action (which was just recently, and we'll see if that works)), they aren't aggressive enough in helping us, their customers, through what can only be described as the most frustrating experience I have ever had in my video gaming life (been gaming since I was 5 (atari days!)), the second place frustration was trying to get controllers for my Atari 5200....

Anyways, don't dog on people who are complaining about a very legitimate concern. I just hope you don't get affected by it, because it is truly gaming hell to deal with.

Just one question

Chessmaster, does it have local multiplayer?

I know XBL is very jazzy, but come on, local multiplayer is the most important aspect in arcade games.

A lot of people are complaining that Chessmaster is too expensive at $10. Well a quick look on Amazon.com shows the latest version of Chessmaster sells for $40 on the PC, $30 on the DS. Older versions are understandably cheaper but even the 10th Anniversary edition from 2004 is $20 as is a new copy of the PS2 version from a few years ago.

Spyglass Games did have chess included but it's really simple program. Chessmaster is a big deal in the chess world and includes features like e-mailing a move that big brain chess players are used to. Not for most of us but I can see hardcore chess people taking pride in taking the Live leaderboard.

My PS2 copy of Rez will have to tide me over until Microsoft fixes the stupid DRM system.

Running total of my Live purchases which will wait until the DRM is fixed - about $60.
