of course Litheon would say something like that,he's not even a microsoft employee,he's more like Larry's sidekick,and Hedon i have no problem with DRM but if i want to take my console in another room without internet or over someones house i SHOULD NOT HAVE TO HAVE THE INTERNET TO PLAY MY ***,its very obvious your 360 hasnt broke (YET) because it will,then your retarded ass will finally see why everyone is mad.

When putting songs onto my zune i dont have to be connected to the internet,so why do i to play my games????????its pretty sad that my 360 i bought my son got the 3 red rings after 2 weeks,then 2 days ago my 360 broke after 1 year of use,and i take very good care of my 360 i havent even moved it from the spot its been in the whole time and its well ventilated,so i guarantee everyones will break eventually.

BOTTOM LINE INTERNET CONNECTION SHOULD NOT BE NECESSARY WHEN PLAYING MY STUFF I PAID CASH FOR AND ANYONE WHO THINKS IT IS MUST HAVE SOMEONE ELSE PAYING FOR THEIR MICROCRAP.

Hey - I don't have a problem with Microsoft using DRM. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I *support* it, but I can understand it.<br><br>

However, the implementation is absolutely horrible. THAT is what I want fixed. They can keep the DRM, but there should be a way for us to change our licenses *at will*. I'd like to upgrade from a Premium to an Elite, but I'm stuck with the current wonky console I have because Microsoft won't pull its head out of the sand.

Count me among the many (millions of) gamers who will purchase most things from the XBLM because we have no problem with the game companies using DRM, and have no DRM issues with repaired consoles.

Actually litheon, he's right. You've shown yourself up somewhat with that post I'm afraid.

We all know that this site is more about pushing product than it is about any meaningful liason with console owners. That's fine, you're a business and have to make money. Unfortunately, most businesses are also generally acountable to their customers. I welcome the current trend of spamming posts on here if only to highlight the issue to random browsers (competing companies, press, devs, potential buyers, anyone), or to keep it at the forefront of gamer's minds. There has been a wilful lack of comment on the DRM issues facing a very large proportion of your user base and the company seems quite happy for the status quo to continue.

It stinks, you know it stinks (as a customer and not an employee how could you argue otherwise?) and you're currently getting away with it - the same as you got away with the red lights issue until you absolutely had to do something about it.

I would also be interested to hear where you think he should complain? Somewhere less public perhaps? How about the customer support lines? The ones we've all tried to no avail. I have frequent problems with my interent and would simply like to be able to play my games, use my DLC and access specific game saves when offline. Being able to use content we have PAID for anytime we wish, you'd think we were asking for the Earth.

@Litheon - It's better than the attitude Microsoft has shown us. This isn't about Larry or e or yourself - this is about the managers above Larry, and about sending them a message and making sure we are heard and not just squelched or ignored (like the 2-year-old Xbox.com thread).

Actually, Cutriss has the attitude that most of us who have been hosed by this problem have.

I have around $500 in downloads that got hosed when my system died. MS replaced it, and since then (August) I've been pleading for them to fix this problem.

Calling support is laughable at best, as it's about a 20% chance you'll get someone that actually knows anything about what you're talking about.

After months of frustration, they supposedly got it worked out and now it will take another month to get the licenses transfered. I've been told this a few times and each time it's not done and the last time, they called me back and left a message for me to call them. So I did, and they had no clue what I was talking about... Then finally I got it worked out and they said it will take another 30 days. We'll see. I'm really not holding my breath.

The bottom line though is that Microsoft has NOT taken care of its customers in this matter. Not only that, but there's really no one to raise this issue with. Customer support is clueless, and emails go unanswered.

If you're affected by this problem, then you know the hell it puts you through. Not having any of your downloaded content work off line or on other profiles is more than frustrating. But even more frustrating is trying to get this issue resolved with a company that doesn't seem to value the very customers that are making their system a success. Not only does it restrict your content, but your games as well, if they have downloaded content on a save file (like oblivion) then you can't play that save file unless conected to Live.

So, please, understand the frustration, and quit telling people to shut up about this. When you're affected by it, it means the world, and it makes you feel violated.

The sounding off about this topic is not an attack on Major Nelson, but more a plea for help from an insider with the company that ignores those of us who started by going the tradition "friendly" way to get this issue resolved.

Our "rants" are not an attack, but more a desperate cry for help with a situation that has been ignored for WAY too long (the issue has been around since the launch of the system).

i agree that the DRM is horrible and the hoops you have to jump through are a joke.

I can't understand why i can't just call up and go

"my account didn't get transfered properly after it was repaired can you fix it? i can't play certain games like sonic,double dragon and golden axe at all and the rest of my content can't be played offline."

and have it relink my account to my new console ID.

in order to steal games and download them onto my friends 360 i'd have to basically screw myself over and unlink my account again.I'm sure if i called 1800MYXBOX a few times about fixing my DRM it'd raise a red flag to stop people from stealing games.

my gamertag is linked to my email address,phone number,credit cards and home address and it's still next to impossible to get this done right,do you need a blood sample to prove i bought these games? i have the transactions still showing up...

if i went to wal-mart and bought something this would be like buying something at the register and putting it down for a second and then a wal-mart emplyee grabbing it and saying "how do i know it's yours?" and then after you show them the receipt they go "not proof enough"

Hopefully the Cystal Quest update fixes problems with downloadable content working. I purchased the game on my first console and the content on the second. I have never been able to use the content I purchased and I hope this fixes that problem.

yeah cutriss i agree....today i got an e74 error on my 360,so im thinking ill just call them and have them send me a box,then they told me i need to pay $140 L.O.L.,so i guess microsoft can pick and choose which problems with their faulty hardware they cover with the 3 year warranty,i then went about tellin the guy i will MAKE IT HAVE THE 3 RINGS,then told them i had that instead of the e74 error.

its funny how ive had my 360 for a year and 2 days so my warranty that wouldve covered the e74 ran out 2 days ago,pretty much anything wrong with the 360 should be covered by microsoft unless its a consumers fault,like they dropped it or something....i take good care of my *** and im being told i have to pay 140$ for something i paid 400$ for already a year ago and already 2000$ in games and 300$ in downloadable content LOL.
