Yea if you want to buy dying technology... You seem to be up on the technological news Nelson, and I know you have to give us the xbocks news, but why fluff it? Why talk people into buying something you know is in the process of failure?

Unfortunately the format is just about dead. Yes, you can get some titles in the future.. but the number is rapidly dwindling. For example, I just got an email today notifying me that Netflix is going exclusively Blu-Ray. I have HD-DVD. I will most likely buy a PS3 once they drop the price again this year. I love my 360 though.

This should have been about a year ago to save HD-DVD. Way to late, and now we all have to support Blu-Ray, which sucks.

No matter who will win the battle!

It dosen't matter, you just get one of each and you can select what ever movie title you want! Get a HD DVD player with a free movie deal if possible, get a PS3 if you want a Bluray player!

I would get a XBOX360 Bluray player if Microsoft ever would release one!

(Just to get a gadget more in my "Media" pile of stuff)

The best part is that i do use just one hdmi cable for both the XBOX360 and the HD-DVD player that do connect to my HD projector, perfect!!!!

Got alot of new HD-DVD movies and the quality really rocks when you do play them back on the XBOX360, it's a cheap solution that will still be used for some more years!

Maybe microsoft will equip the new XBOX360's with internal HD-DVD player as the price drops, and a bluray player will be optional....

If you can't decide what to use, get a combo player or get one of each.

I got the HD DVD, and the movies i got really is superb and crisp!

My 100" picture is super...

It's affordable and i recommend you to get one, even if BlueRay will win the fight in the end! You can also use it on your PC if you want.

Well I have both xbox 360 and ps3 so I have both formats. And I also have a hybrid player that plays both formats in my other room. Even tho HD DVD is a dying format I still buy movies for it. It's not like when they discontinue it the picture quality will look obsolete. And whatever movies I have for HD DVD thats just one less movie I will have for Blu ray. I would recommend that if you decide to get a HD DVD player I would also recommend getting a blu ray too just because HD will eventually fade out and you will be safe w/both formats.

Had my 360 since launch and picking one of these up will tie me over til theres about 10+games i want for a ps3 (when i'll buy one) and have a BR player then. Not the best thing to buy in reality but its not much if u got a bit of disposable income. I will admit tho it depends on me seeing what a upscaling dvd player is like first on my tv. I can compare it too a few HD sources (borrow off mates) so if i see a tidy difference i could be tempted

It's too late for both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. Both formats will be gone in the movie format in the next few years. The future is digital distribution. The jump will be from DVD to digital downloads....with DVD's still being the top seller for the next 10 years.

Sorry its to late. MS needs to go to blu Ray, i was in bestbuy today, and looking at the HD selection and BLu Ray selection, the blu ray selcetion? LOTS AND LOTS the HD? hardley any. I am getting a PS3 for my blu ray player. unless MS comes out with one in the next couple of months. RIP HD
