I'm not impressed at all by the DL content the past two weeks. In digging into it a bit, I found the "EXCLUSIVE" nature of all three songs this week means that the bands all have staff members from Harmonix as band members. www.rockband.com/.../282423

They are not only making money from us for the game, but also pushing their own bands' songs on us and probably paying themselves their own royalties for it.

From the blog post, they do make the comment "(And one last word for those who may be griping that we haven’t had any international superstar DLC in the past two weeks: Fear not, lots more of that is coming)"

I loved the Boston pack, as I grew up with that music (dates me, I know), and we need more of that mainstream music. Fulfilling their pledge to bring content every week with crap like the last two weeks is just nonsense.

I Here there is going to be more songs on the Europe release is why it is costing more. Alot of the stuff us Americans have already paid for on DLC will be on the Europe release.

I think it's just silly that the bundle is the same price as buying them individually. What's up with that? Why bother with a bundle in that case...

What I learned from this post:

1)NEVER BUY OXM AGAIN. This was your last shot. You got me, and you got me with the word "EXCLUSIVE". Remember their announcement? How they emphasized this was their content and it would the only way to get it? PFHFT.

2)ALL Rock Band music will be sold at some point, at some time. There are even announcements that the Euro "exclusives" will come to the USA as DLC.

3)After installing this (on the OXM I purchased back then), I want to find the members of Count Zero and tell them how much I hate "Shake". I am serious, this is one awful song. That song is not music - it is musical annoyance.

4)Rock Band now seems to care more about which stupid no name band has people working at MTV or Harmonix than actually getting music I might buy on the service. Reading how these bands have members who work at Harmonix kind of pisses me off because it means that regardless of what they publish, this crap is going to be on the disc rather than something I might want to play.

5)Rock Band does not need any more "ALT-ROCK". Ok, let it go. For all the people who complain about the metal, I WANT MORE. And I want real metal bands (In Flames? HAH! Raunchy? NOPE!), bands who have GOOD MUSICANS. Brother can I PLEASE GET SOME OF THE NEW TESTAMENT ALBUM in Rock Band?!? Metal has had a resurgence of late (many good albums in the past 2 years), and yet we still get force fed lame a$$ top 40 drivel.

As a fan of metal, I grow weary of having to sing like a tortured fifteen year old girl, or a boy who is trying to sound like said fifteen year old girl. ESPECIALLY ON EXPERT! The only way a grown man can reproduce some of this "songs" is to pinch my nose when I sing! NO MORE WHINING MUSIC! I have yet to see MTV/Harmonix reach out to labels like Nuclear Blast and Roadrunner. That is where I want Rock Band's DLC to go. NO MORE ALT-CRAP!

6)If you think I am being hard of them, YOU ARE CORRECT. Why is it that the songs I jumped on right off the bat (Metallica) just happen to be some of the hardest tracks in the game? Why is it I MUST sing this crap?! Why is it that these songs always seem to strike when I am trying to play something like an 18 song setlist? The caching of DLC at the beginning was a start, but I also want the ability to strike music off my playlist without DELETING THE DLC. Because Metallica and this OXM pack went RIGHT OFF because they do nothing but break the game for players like me.

XBox 360 - Why yes, I play this game on Expert now. Can you tell by how FUSTRATED I AM BY HAVING TO SING THE RADIO PARTS OF "ORANGE CRUSH" ON EXPERT?!?!?!?!

I'm interested in the comments about Rock Band costing more than a 360 in the UK. How much does a 360 cost there? I heard you can get them free with a new mobile phone tariff, but it's probably the lowly arcade one? My mum lives in the UK and she got totally hooked on Rock Band when she visited me in the USA. Funny watching a 60yr old mum 5 starring singing Ozzy and Nirvana songs!

I think it's great that they released these for everyone. I don't have an OXM subscription, and I missed that OXM issue when it first came out. Now I can get these AWESOME (love me some Freezepop!) songs for less than it would have cost me to buy that OXM issue off the newsstand! Now I just need to get a copy of Rock Band first... :/

boo, everything since the Dead pack sux badly. I already had these tracks, so much for being "exclusive". This game needs Metal and I don't mean more Metallica or Iron Maiden covers (unless it's Rime of the Ancient Mariner).

Oh well... more money in my pocket :-)
