Why does everyone say that oh call of duty is better or halo is better who cares they are 1 2 because they are both great games , i played both and enjoyed both all the game in the top 10 are good that is the reason there

I can't wait to see what happens when GTA 4 comes out. It's going to take Vegas's2 spot for sure. But which one will it dethrone? Halo3 or COD4?

How can you not be pinged? Wouldn't it be the same in either game whether or not you can be pinged and show up in playlist #'s, as both games are using the same Xbox Live framework to get GT's?

Also, logging into 1 game and viewing the # of active players in playlists then logging into the other game and viewing the # of active players in playlists is the best way to determine which game is the more popular multiplayer! This is how probability and statistics work. If you take 10 samples a day for a month and every sample says Halo 3 has more players in playlists than COD4, a person can deduce that Halo 3 is a more popular game amongst the multiplayer audience. Those are the numbers that would be more interesting to me. I would like to see it broken down into Top 10 UU single player game, Top 10 UU multiplayer, Top 10 hours logged, etc., which I believe each developer tracks individually.

the numbers on cod4 should be about 2 times as big as halo 3 because in 9 days people logged in 30 million matches.

i'd like to see the numbers though, like how much better cod4 does compared to halo 3

i mean halo 3 was a huge let down for me and i think the multiplayer in halo 3 is rubbish compared to alot of other games, like cod 4 =D

COD4 will be around for a long time. IW will make sure that happens with new map packs. H3 will be around just as long. (M$ will not allow their cash cow die)

Halo 3 is a much better game... within a few weeks, or at most a few months, enough people will have moved on to R62, Battlefield, etc all the modern war games, and COD4 will shrivel up and die. Halo3 attracts a more unique type of player and has more unique gameplay, so it'll live on.

I Second that, but i would love to see Hours played aswell as UU's. I'm pretty sure CoD4 wouldn't be top on hours played.

thats just not going to happen. Gears of War is still in the list because its a good game that is constantly supported. Halo3 will be supported for years to come, and people will go back to it even after November.

it doesnt mean that Halo is over just because it has the 2nd highest user base of all games played on XBL.

Halo will stop being played eventually. However not in the near future. I wouldnt go as far as to say that someone doesnt deserve to play on their own xbox that they paid hundreds of dollars for. Its just not fair.

was your research just "go on COD4; look at the online users then go on Halo3; look at the online users?" because there are some problems with that. For instance you cant Ping me and therefore I dont show up on that number. Also your 'non-peak time' was a peak time for someone. Say if you looked at 1pm EST, thats about 7PM GMT, so really there is no way to know 'till MS actually release the numbers that people are asking for here.

stop fighting over who has a better game. Realise that they are both stellar games that push the limit of every game out there. Halo3 is a benchmark for online matchmaking, and COD4 is the benchmark for gameplay.

Why do we see the same Halo 3/COD 4 bashing every week? Who cares which one is at the top of the list? Just play the game you like. I still play crackdown occasionally but I don't get upset that it's not in the top ten. You'd think that everyone on here is ten years old!

We'll see this fall, even though it's not infinity ward, COD5 could siphon away users as will GoW2.

How can you call the list live activity, when it doesn't take into account average active users, most played time, etc...? I want data not how many people went "oh I want to play cod4 for a bit"
