I'm curious how CoD4 and Halo keep track of the number of people online vs actually on multiplayer. I've been going back and forth all week playing both and Halo always had at least 100,000 people more listed on the global map. I know its not scientific at all just an anecdotal observation, anyone else notice this?

First off, I would like to congratulate gears. It was only a few weeks ago many people here were saying Rainbow Six Vegas 2 was going to leap gears and stay there. Well - you were all wrong.

And desperately, desperately, do I want to see how close H3 and COD4 are. My personal preference is COD4 (faster paced), but I play both, as I'm sure many people do. I'm not convinced either that GTA4 is gonna surpass those two this week. A lot of gamers consistently playing both of those titles.

Also........BIG UPS TO FIFA! Holding strong as the number one rated sports title on the 360.

i love that halo 3 is number 2. i hope gears of war overtakes it (as people go back to it before gears 2) and halo 3 drops to the third spot. bungie screwed up halo's multiplayer so bad that i cant even stand to play 1 match. the maps suck, the mechanics, suck and the overall experience is watered down.

Funny thing that many people thinks that this is "fixed"

CoD4 is 1st for 1 reason and it's because is better than Halo 3.

Yeah I agree, seeing the possibilities that game has it will be great, unless they totally *** up the multiplayer (which I doubt). But what I mean about the Halo being better now that it's number two...more people playing and less people talking or just dicking around in matchmaking just because its "cool" to be on Halo.

I remember when people said Halo 2 would drop off many times (mostly when Gears came out), Now I just laugh at them, CoD4 will never, and I repeat, never last as long as any of the Halo games. Come on, people still play Halo 1, that right there is a sign of what to expect 5 years from now. Also just throwing it out that Halo has a much better replay value than CoD4.

H3 and COD4 will be around for a long time. I'm pretty sure they will go back and forth when it comes to the number one spot. XBL's greatest feature is the mute button!

@ Major Nelson I would start looking for new intro music for the show and E's Xbox 101.

I laugh at people who say Halo sucks because it's number 2. Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 are both amazing games and deserve the #1 and #2 spots. Stop being whiny fanboys, since when does #2 mean it's bad?

I like that Call of duty is more popular. All the little kids think it's cool to play cod, so my halo experince has improved greatly. Cheers.
