My wife bought the american idol karoke for the wii, i wish the wii had the online like the xbox with the downloading content and online play. i wish microsoft would buy nintendo, make wii motes for the xbox and release nintendo games for the xbox like that since nintendo basically a game publisher, making so many of the games for it's system. if they would make games for the xbox in the nintendo way i would love it.

fair enough major, thanks for responding, glad to know there was a reason. i just think it sucks because i can't convert it because it's an english site, where's if it was all english i figure they could could convert it but i guess they can just read it if it's their language.

Just out of curiosity, for the items that are available in Singapore, if you copied the data from Singapore's Marketplace database, would it be in English or some other language? (Singapore has multiple official languages, and one of the primary ones is English.)

Also, is there any chance of a preview button so we can see how our comments will appear before posting them? Sometimes line breaks work for me and other times they don't.

I take the data directly out of the Marketplace database. If it's in english, I post it in english. But as some have pointed out, if it's only in Japanese...that's all I have to go on...and I post as is. The last thing you want is me trying to do language conversion.

Well, there's a good chance that much of the content that hasn't come to the US or UK yet doesn't have an official English description for Major Nelson to post, and for the content that has arrived in English-speaking countries, if it's showing up in Japanese or some other language, the Marketplace is almost certainly treating it as a different item, in which case he'd probably have to manually figure out which piece of content it is so that he could find the description for its English equivalent. That might not be too much of a problem for one or two pieces of content, but it could be quite a daunting task if Major Nelson were to do that for each piece of content he posted about. Like I mentioned before, if the Singaporean descriptions are in English, it may be advantageous for Major Nelson to use those in place of Japanese descriptions when possible, but otherwise, I don't see a feasible solution for this issue.

@snowphoenix, yeah i know it's in other countries, but for some content that shows up in other countries first or only like japan, as was the case with lost odyssey, i had to go somewhere else to find out what the content was because of that crap. some stuff never shows up in the us that appears in other countries and it would be nice to see what we're missing out on.

As far as I can tell, the descriptions posted will be in English if the content is available on the American or British Xbox Live Marketplaces. If not, it seems to default to other languages in a set order. The description for the Japanese Xbox Live Marketplace seems to higher on the list of descriptions than the descriptions for the other countries those items are available in. Perhaps the Singaporean Xbox Live Marketplace has English descriptions for those items. If so, it may be better for Major Nelson to use the descriptions from the Singaporean Xbox Live Marketplace for items available only in Asia, but for Asian content not available in Singapore, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't any official English translation.

Nice to see more stuff being offered to the states but no where else!! :o( When is the UK going to be getting some free stuff? I want the DR Pepper theme too! (Yes, we do actually have it here aswell)
