I like silverlight. I wish though that there wasn't so much proprietary tug of war bs on the internet. I wish there was just one type of media player that you could skin anyway you way and you didn't have to choose, or in some cases only get one, even if it's not that popular, and have to go download it.

@litheon it used to index comments. you could go to a profile and go to recent posts and it would go back by date. i thought it was really nice to see if major had made any updates via comments.

This is a pretty cool concept other than some of the Terms of Use. From what I'm reading, MS is declaring that anything you create in your "Submission" can be distributed and even sold by MS and the creator will receive no compensation.

From the TOU:

"Microsoft does not claim ownership of or endorse Submissions and disclaims any liability with respect to users’ Submissions. However, by posting, uploading, inputting, providing or submitting ("Posting") your Submission you are granting:

1. Microsoft and its affiliated companies the following worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, fully paid-up rights: (1) to make, have made, use, copy, reproduce, modify, and create derivative works of the Submissions, (2) to publicly perform or display, import, broadcast, transmit, distribute (directly and indirectly through multiple tiers), license, offer to sell and sell, rent, lease, or lend copies of the Submissions (and derivative works thereof), (3) to sublicense to third parties the foregoing rights, including the right to sublicense to further third parties, and (4) to publish your name or alias in connection with your Submissions;"

Later it goes on to say:

"You may completely remove your Submissions at any time from the Web site, but such removal will not affect any licenses that you granted in connection with the Submissions prior to the time you completely removed them. No compensation will be paid for your Submissions or for the permissions you have granted above."

Looks fun. And for those saying silverlight sucks and no one will ever use it, NBC is using silverlight to broadcast every single Olympic even on their website. So know your facts before you hate.

@a Frisky Dingo, as of right now the blog functionality is mainly what we use. We've looked into using the forums, download galleries, photo galleries, etc.; however, as of right now we're just using the blog functionality. With that in mind, our search does not index comments.

hey major, why does most of the rest of this site not work. you can't look up any posts by anybody, the downloads has a podcast folder with nothing in it and the forums don't work. or is it just me. what's going on with that?
