"$186 million of all third party game sales this generation, or 53% of share." Are you telling me that 3rd party publishers have only made $350 million revenue this entire generation? That can't be healthy.

Like some fellows said in the previous comments, these are just numbers, and their only purpose is to put the spotlight on to something positive for the company and hope that the "common"-earthly-buyer will forget about the REAL problems Xbox 360 has: hardware failure and a serious service and customer support. According to the "Microsoft Map" the world is divided in two continents: USA and others. Here in Europe still there are countries that have no customer support and Xbox LIVE (Romania, Greece etc) and hardware failure has it's shares of the pie. But, as I said, I am from Europe and my problems with my two Microsoft Xbox 360 consoles does not matter...

I wonder how many of those consoles that are supposedly "bought" are for new gamers?... I doubt it. Probably people buying new 360's cause their old one crapped out.

32% failure rate....360s biggest flaw.

It's amazing that one of the most mediocre games could push numbers so high. I mean GTA IV is cool and all, but the only thing that saves it from being the same old same old is it's only play. Which is pretty fun though, don't get me wrong. Expect me to contribute to the May numbers, as I had to buy a whole new Xbox360 due to the RED LIGHTS... *sigh*

More parents keep buying their kids Wii Sports. Poor kids. Apparently if they are lucky they get one other game and then it all stops. The 360 needs to move more units, sure, but the attach rate is the story. You make a great XBL experience for gamers and you will sell games.

And in that spring update, we should have a nifty feature that allows you to upload video of your gaming straight to youtube. Like the PS3. And since I know that we have something good cooking up in Nelsons Kitchen, I think we shall (hopefully). I think if either in one of the next updates or in the next system, we need to have an update for video recording of our gameplay. This would be so much better than having to make a capture card and spending over $120 on something like this.

Can I get a Hell Yeah?

Well DUH! The 360 was available well over a year longer than the other two next gen systems. It SHOULD be the first one to reach 10 mil. No reason to pat yourself on the back for this.

I also wonder how many of the xbox's are those that people bought after theirs broke. Mine just got the red rings after i got it as a replacement at launch.

"The 'top 3 of the top 10 games' line is based on CONSOLE games." you mean the list is base on non-hand held consoles..

this is all kool major but in fact major this put me "thinking." that your or ms is trying to hide the fact that there may been major loses when the red lights became a issue.. like i said stop pushing numbers you are going as bad as sonys pie charts at E3 with it.. just proof with out numbers or show proof you fixing the TRL "THREE RED LIGHTS" issues.. meaning hey show how much you willing to support your fans or consumers more then any other console provider out there.. you guys was doing just fine about it until you showed stuff like this.. remember in some cases numbers ain't everything you said so you self major "when talking about sonys pie chart"

Teh console sales on 360 and ps3 are very very disapointing, but GTA was after all the PS2's post popular every game so MS will be happy that thousands of PS2 owners did not go out and get a PS3 for GTA4

I called the PR folks, and got clarification. The 'top 3 of the top 10 games' line is based on CONSOLE games. Apparently they have access to the full list and when you remove the DS titles that's what you get. Hope that clears it up.

Not to be a jerk, but why are the PR people still claiming "making it the first current generation gaming console to break the 10 million barrier in the U.S." when the Wii did that ages ago.

I thought they had amended it to be something like the first Hi Def console, or some such sillyness?
