Who the heck wants to worry about whether or not they can find a gas station that pumps diesel? Too much bother to be practical.

I've got the exact same top four. From there I go to Jazz Cafe and Howard 100. I just hope the damn merger goes through already- I want my MLB along with my NFL!

Major, you should've bought a diesel if you want MPG! My driving instructors car averaged at 71mpg on a bad day. Diesels the future of sensible motoring.

Yeah but if your getting a rav 4 it’s flat along the top so people wont really see it unless they are high enough up and looking right at it.

On sedans and other cars they are concave like across the top so people see it, on yours you should probably be ok.

Cool, I am getting ready to upgrade my HU in the 2008 Rav4 I just got and part of that upgrade will be the Sirius add-on. Good idea on the antenna mount, see if it can work for me. Pretty sure the Rav4 fenders are not fiber, though. BTW - I am looking at the Pioneer AVIC-F700BT for the HU. I also have the JBL audio upgrade in the toy.

Well the "wart" antenna is pretty ugly depending on the car.

I personally do not mind on mine (its a GM plus has the onstar antenna fin) and I have the Sirius antenna on the other side. I don't mind it shows people I have satallite Radio (especially with my sweet install it looks awesome) and it shows them I don't listen to crappy radio 1 song then 30-45 mins of commercials then one song then a dj talking for 20 mins)

I wouldn't have worried about elements and theft, mine has been in the worst conditions (+45 to -40C weather - that's Canada for you!) for years and nothing has ever happened to it. On the other hand, if your prius isn't black I definitely understand the eye sore issue! My Mazda 3 (shameless plug) is black and it goes unnoticed (even by me). Sirius is an awesome choice! It's way edgier than XM and has better programming, IMO. I listen to Alt Nation, Octane, Classic Vinyl, Stern, Left of Center, Faction, and Buzz Saw. Enjoy!

Shoedog, yes my text scrolls. BUT I had to make sure and flip the little dip switch on the box before it was installed. subVertNYC: I did some of it myself, but I have a friend who is pretty good with installs. Without him, I would have ended up with a much hacker install. And I am with you...as I said above, I am a gadget freak and this car is a carputer. The high mileage also helps to save money....to spend on more gadgets.

Good job Larry. For what it's worth, I've had XM (Delphi MyFi) and now Sirius (built in Chrysler stock radio). I like the content on Sirius better but it's no contest...reception on XM with my antenna mounted inside the car on the top right corner of my dash BLOWS AWAY reception on Sirius with a factory roof mounted antenna. I hope with the merger somehow they can improve Sirius reception. The "No Signal" message, gets old fast!!
