Anyway, list of arcade games I'd like to see:

Marathon and Marathon Infinity

Warcraft 1 and 2

Dark Castle/Return to Dark Castle

Dragon: Bruce Lee Story

Rock N Roll Racing

Goldeneye

Road Rash

Whoops, I forgot to mention that the description of the avatars in that description got me concerned that they'll be replacing gamerpics permanently.

re: This week on Arcade: Elements of Destruction and Sea Life Safari

Yeah, I asked that question with that in mind. I figure MN will probably never reply, but I wanted to voice my concern about the avatars.

Supposedly, the info was leaked from an advertising partner of MS'. Gamepro (seriously, this mag is still around?) further backed this up by confirming through a first-party 'source' that most of the info leaked was the real deal: www.xbox360fanboy.com/.../rumor-avatars-are-microsoft-take-on-miis

You can find a bit more info about this and the other rumors by searching kotaku and joystiq.

re: This week on Arcade: Elements of Destruction and Sea Life Safari

@Firecrest

Here's a quote from what Major Nelson wrote for the FAQ section of this site:

"I can’t comment on rumors, unreleased details, data or anything that is covered under my Microsoft NDA".

I'm almost certain that the stuff you are asking about would fall under rumors and/or unreleased details so don't be surprised if you don't get a response.

Anyway, where did you hear they would be "ditching gamerpics for Mii-esque avatars"? I haven't been keeping up on that story, but while I have heard about the "avatars", I haven't heard anything other than speculation that they're intended as a replacement. They could just supplement the gamer pictures (i.e. you would have both).

re: This week on Arcade: Elements of Destruction and Sea Life Safari

So Sea Life Safari is like Pokemon snap sans the Pokemon? And I don't know how long I could play Elements of Destruction before all the um, destruction becomes repetitive. I'd rather Rare re-create Blast Corps for XBLA. Now that was an awesome game right there.

So Major, what do you have to say about all this leaked info regarding a Xbox Live gameshow channel and ditching gamerpics for Mii-esque avatars? I mean, hopefully you guys aren't ditching gamerpics altogether after paying for some of the pic packs and enjoying the freedom of changing my personal gamerpic with the Live Vision Camera.

Could be a storm brewing in the community.

I think I'm going to make a 360 death watch page because it shant be long now.

Also more great news: PS3 has now passed up the 360 in install base in Europe despite a 1 year launch.

I sure hope E3 is rockin this year otherwise you are destined for the bottom of the console heat once again.

Have you looked at the Metacritic scores for the recent XBLA titles? Of the seven the most recent titles (except for Frogger 2, which doesn't have a score yet), three are well over the required score of 65, two are borderline, and only one is significantly under the 65 line.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 - 66

Aces of the Galaxy - 78

Roogoo - 81

Buku Sudoku - 62

Warlords - 51

Penny Arcade Adventures Epsiode One: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - 77

If you look at the scores for some games released before the announcement, you'll see many are significantly lower.

Here are some of the older XBLA games I notice on the sidebar of Metacritic's website:

Bliss Island - 43

Brain Challenge - 54

Ikaruga - 88 (Yes, I see that this score is higher than the most recent games.)

Mr. Driller Online - 45

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil - 57

Rocky and Bullwinkle - 37

TiQal - 58

Triggerheart Exelica - 63

Wits & Wagers - 64

If you're so dissatisfied with the service why are most of you that is complaining week after week gold members?
