Antomathy: Rock Band 2 was already announced as being a timed-exclusive release for the 360 in the US this September (with the versions for other consoles following later this year), so HA! :p

And a question: now that we've established that the DLC songs won't be tied to a specific version of the game, does this also apply for playing the songs online too?

I am very impressed with the move to make the songs cross compatible. For that they will have a dedicated fan of the series. More and more each day I sway away from Guitar Hero and their puzzling DLC policy.

Sorry to get off topic tho, picked up the free song, thanks! Didn't dig the other songs tho. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't they supposed to be releasing Green Day "Dookie" sometime?

oh even more awesome, just of reading about how rock band 2 is coming out later this year haha..

we wont even be getting the first rock band until september at earliest... even then it hasnt been announced for release in australia..

wow, i hope the just piss off the first rock band for australia and just give us rock band 2 before you guys in the states =)

how awesome is this, more downloadable content..

yet we still havent got the game in australia.. what a joke.. i've had this game on pre-order for over a year now...

it cant be that hard to start shipping to australia.. i mean surely they've overcome the demand for the game in producing more reliable accessories and what not..

by the time this game comes out in australia, we may as well just get the new guitar hero: world tour or what ever it is...

The tracks are 80 points each (half price wooo), so I grabbed the Crue song and the Papa Roach song. I haven't heard PR since their first big song (Last Resort...? Which I hated) but this song is pretty decent. No angry teen rapping in this one. The Crue song is great because it sounds like big hair music, which is excellent. And both for the price of one!

ushman360: Harmonix has put on record the fact that Rock Band DLC will be compatible, regardless of which Rock Band you have:

"Before you start deleting the dozens of tracks you've downloaded for the first Rock Band, know that RB2 features ground-breaking cross-title compatibility. There is no distinction between Rock Band 1 and Rock Band 2 DLC. Any DLC you've previously downloaded will instantly work with Rock Band 2 and all DLC will continue to work with the original game from here and into eternity."

I will be downloading the free one for sure. As for the others I will have to listen to them.

A question to anyone: When Rock Band 2 comes out do you think they will stop releasing DL tracks for RB 1 or make all new DL songs work with both games?
