And with games, there some games like N+ that are free to play on the net with ALL the levels. I almost bought the game, the demo was awesome. Played it on the net for a few moments, got bored, glad I did not but such a marvelous game. But there are MANY who appreciate its puzzles and challenges. I do, but in small doses.

Same thing goes for Alien Hominid. I played it on www.newgrounds.com YEARS ago. Fun, animated violence game. Loved it on GameCube and I love it on Xbox360 and yes, I bought it for both systems, (I have my Gamecube away yo my nieces and nephews) so I play the Xbox Live version. AWESOME.

My point being, with blogs, polls and such, you'd think video game companies would run polls of what to put in a game via popular vote. Don't tell us what the popular vote that won once the voting is over and when the game comes out, most of these 'silent' players will become word of mouth players which will equal more sales and more fun and more conversation and more buzz. And then more games that appeal more to the masses.

Paying for games is not an issue for me, my issues are:

1. It is downloaded to my hard drive and takes up space (business = rental space).

2. If I'm not playing it for some time, I CAN NOT let a friend borrow it. (It's mine, right?)

3. I don't want to play it any more, I want to sell it like I did with some of my SNES and PSX games.

4. Does the price equal the fun I'd be getting?

Number 4 is usually not relevant, just look at my Arcade Game Downloads - though Street Fighter II HyperFighting, Wolf of the Battlefield (bought only for the Super Street Fighter II HD Remix Beta - BOTH a LOT of FUN!), UNO (Kameo) and Boom Boom Rocket get the most recent play - I Go Random often. Wits and Wagers did not impress any of my friends, but it impressed me until I 'paid' for it. Whoops. Not a You Don't Know Jack, but, it does make for good conversation at the office.

I do not expect all XNA games to be 400 MS Points all the time, but at 800 points I will say I am starting to expect MORE for anything over 400 MS Points. My friends are ages 12 to 47 with most at age 25 and they do not like much of the kiddie stuff or brainless stuff.

the game is just fantastic. ubserschizoid is insanity and co-op is genius.

Uh....first off $10 a cd is a rip anyways because most of the time you only like the one song you heard. Second at $4 a pop and lets say this game sells to at least 10,000 people minimum...so that means the guy just made $40,000. Yeah....thats pretty good for buying some XNA software and using it on your PC! lol. He just made more then most people! Unless of course he is getting more then $4, then hes doing REALLY well.

MS is to cheap to have games for less then 800. Unless they are total crap like the old atari games where its basically one screen that never actually changes like that fortress game thing. And even then its 600. Trust me MS has its priorities: 1. Money 2. More Money. 3. Product. 4. WAYYYY in the back customer.

re: Arcade: Schizoid

Red Dragon

*sigh*

Here is a another good example of a game that could have been a hit at 400 points, but will never even grow legs at 800. Microsoft is clearly trying to drive up rates on arcade games but are loosing customers in the process.

Anon 3

A little on the expensive side, but definitely a great game.

------------------------------------------------------------

Schizoid is AWESOME, true it starts off a little slow (one-player), but gets WAY BETTER int he single player tutorial that I TOTALLY ignored as I completed each level of it. The 400 MS Point price would have been PERFECT! It requires Co-op to truly get the blood pumping to the max - nice graphics, EXCELLENT special effects and AWESOME techno sound track. I've hardly seen DEATH be so beautiful when dying since Life Force on NES.

My friend does not have the points for this. If it were 400 points, I'd spring for him. Xbox Live (MS) needs to do a REAL holiday or SPECIAL DAY temporary price drop.

All 800 MS Point games down to 400 MS Points, All 400 MS Points games to 250 MS Points for like ONE day. They should not even tell us on a beta try out day because friends will tell friends "Hey... You saw GAME X!!?!? It's freaking XXX MS points, GET IT while it's cheap!"

Would that hurt? I dunno, but I know that downloads that day would be off the chain as I know as soon as I found out I'd be buying points to collect on like FOUR or more games per each 1600 MS Points Card!!!

re: Arcade: Schizoid

So on one hand we have people who hate Electronic Arts for scooping up smaller good developers and how EA has become too big and too corporate so they refuse to buy their games. Then on the other hand we have people who complain about a game like this (which is actually a fun game and original) being over-priced because it's a game made by an independent team that is very small?

I for one like the idea of supporting smaller independent developers. As long as the game is fun. That to me is the key. I tried the Golf game and I found it boring. You see, that is how I choose my purchases, whether or not I enjoy the game. Not who made it. 800 points is not much when comparing it to other games in the same price category. It is better than a lot of others I tried.

If you were to buy one of these two games, go with Golf: Tee it Up! As it will be better in the long run. Schizoid is alright, but it also feels kind of bland.

They are probably raising the prices a bit to squeeze out the money for the three year waranty repairs. As well as the huge inflation that is occuring in our country.

re: Arcade: Schizoid

I think it's an awesome game and worth the price. And the funny thing is I bought it by accident. I clicked download and I guess I clicked purchase and realized I wasn't downloading the trial, I was upset at first, but than I played it and everything turned out alright.

Plus I have to agree, support XNA content.

One final note, as much as this kills me to say, it's more fun than the gutted version of Soul Caliber. And yes SC is a great game, I just enjoy playing it the way it was meant to be, and for free on my Dreamcast. Enough about that.

Whine, whine, whine.

Just play the game and realize how much fun it is, especially co-op.

re: Arcade: Schizoid

Here we go Mister Anon 22. You hit the point. I think most of the people complaining here just don`t have the money to purchase the games. Those are the ones who are screaming "MAKE LIVE FREE" and "WE WANT EVERYTHING FREE". Just think about it. If everything is free, would you go to work?

I like Shizoid. It`s just a little bit to slow in my opinion, but it is a very original game. Like N+. Support those Indies. Just my 2 cents

I for one am going to buy it. i want to support devs using XNA. I suppot independant devlopers working in small teams, building great products that big publishers would be prowd of.
