I LOVED the Hartford Whaler's theme. Brought back some great memories of the three Howes, Dave Keon and the great uniforms. Who was your favourite player Major?

BTW Major, don't move to Toronto, we don't want to lose a sports team (ok, maybe the Argos can go).

Wow! Really wasn't expecting a show this week! Good job you workaholic you! But really....You're linking S**tbucks!!?? That's like saying 'The Devil is this way! Enjoy!'. Not sure what you guys have for choice over the pond, but the coffee lovers I know in the UK actually like COFFEE not URINE. Sometimes I hear a lot of complaining and what is sometimes worse is the people who say "stop complaining". People should express their reasons for what they feel. But it should be done in a reasonable way. I want to hear reasonable people express reasonable opinions.

One problem in this particular discussion is that I don't think anyone but MS knows what it costs to run the service. So it kind of limits the discussion.

I've never paid full price for a year. Only mugs do that. First year cost me $5 - I bought an Xbox1 PGR2 starter pack, sold the game and headset on ebay and kept the years Live Sub. Second year I bought 13 months for $35. This year I paid $38 for 13 months. 0.07 cents a day - worth every nickel! 0.47 cents a week - worth every dime!

And plus, there are ways to get your subscription for cheaper than $50 a year. Every now and again someone will put the 12 month subscription card on sale. Plus, you get 13 months with it instead of 12. For example, I just bought a 12 month card for $30. So unless you let MS automatically renew your subscription, you don't HAVE to pay $50 a year.

I agree with Anon 21. Compared to the price of broadband, the gold subscription is nothing. It also gives us a way to hold MS responsible. "hey I am paying for this" not "oh well what can you expect for free"

You have to understand that one way or another you are paying for online play. Do you think that the servers that host your games or stats are free? Yes that may be less true in the case where there are only peer-to-peer only hosting. And yes there are some things that are hosted for silver memebers, but I suspect that the online players use much more of the Live resources, so why not let those of us who use it pay for it so the ones that don't.

Jams, You are playing Yaris - no you do not need online multiplayer support. Save yourself $50 and become silver. The majority of us with jobs don't mind paying $1/week for the best online service available.
