i think that the new dash looks pretty good, it makes it much more personal to people, simple is always better and in this case it looks great, and the new features look awesome too

With Windows Media Extender, you can ALREADY stream Netflix to your Xbox 360... this is just the same thing without the middleman. Oh, and I heard that you need to have a Gold account to use the Netflix functionality... I don't see why that would be because you can use Media Center Extender to do it with a Silver account, which is what I'm using lately.

But yeah, one of the things that 360 definitely had over the PS3 was a far, FAR superior interface, and I think this new update is kindof eliminating that advantage. And I would love to see this Second Life BS just get flushed right back down whatever toilet it was launched out of. Of course, with Wii sales now surpassing 360 sales, I could very well be wrong.

But regardless, good showing at E3... Microsoft definitely led the pack this year.

The Dash looks good and the avatars are interesting. can't wait to see them in action and i am a 26 year old hardcore gamer. stop moaning guys let them have a chance. however when will microsoft cater for the other 25 countries it supplies there are now 12 million of us (conference own fgures here)in 26 countries and most of the anouncements are directed at the USA. when will the rest of us 25 see what you are all getting? surely its about time we get all the benifits? or maybe we should pay less compared to the US as we recieve a lesser service?

a bud is presently streaming net flix now over his 360, WITHOUT a gold account...I dont know what this deal is about also there was a net article today staying that you CANT do HD with netflix..Is that true ?

To everyone repeatedly asking whether you can choose to use the old dash over the new one, here's my advice:

SHUT UP, WAIT TIL FALL, AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

Very few people at this point will know, and none will be willing to share in-depth information about it. At this point, everything they have mentioned is subject to change, so just chill the crap out, wait until we can get our hands on it, and we will see. I'm sure MS knows what they are doing much, MUCH better than any of you people here.

I don't mind the new dashboard - I'm just confused how downloaded themes work now. I can use a change, but I think the avatars are flipping stupid. I didn't want a Wii because of this EXACT REASON.

Net flix? Great idea. Party chats/sharing? FINALLY! 3d avatars? Com'on. Let's be grown up about this...

As you are talking to a global audience how about using "global" terminology.Fall is an americanism which has no meaning elsewhere on this planet as we call it by it's proper name - Autumn.

Also on planet earth there are 2 hemispheres so while it is Autumn in the North what is it in the South?Does that mean the update will appear 6 months later?

Clearly using Month / Year makes it clear to all users on this planet when the product is available.

I stream alot of content from my PC to the xbox but many users are continually disappointed with the lack of support for the .mkv format.

I would very much hope this will be fixed for the next dash update.

wow, all you "mature" gamers are seriously ridiculous. how does having a brand new interface with more customization take away your so called "maturity"? if you were the hardcore gamers you say you are then something like this shouldnt bother you, it should be all about the games and you honestly can't say that you like having the CLUNKY SLOW dashboard now. I don't see why anyone would. Also i dont see people hating on PS3's HOME which has avatars just like 360's and isnt ps3 supposed to be a hardcore console as well?
