Simply embarrassing. Microsoft is basically copying Wii's "Mii", and Yahoo's avatars with their stupid avatar feature on XBL. Not only does it look ridiculous, but there's no need for them whatsoever. I've always been a fan of Microsoft because they're innovators. And don't get me wrong, the Live update (coming this Fall) looks awesome. But the Avatars are basically just copies of a stupid concept that got old years ago. I know Microsoft could've come up with something much more amazing, better looking, and a lot more promising. But what they showed looked unbelievably less-gen. It's just dumb, not to mention immature (I'm 16, I don't want a freaking avatar).

I'm going to be very disappointed if they remove GamerPics and Themes, I payed money for many of mine. Anyways, I'd rather use my GamerPic than a ridiculous looking avatar, and I'm not going to be a happy customer if they force that thing down our throats.

I am real excited about th enew fable. ALso, a suggestion: Maybe there could be a tool in the avatar creation to convert a gamerpic to a t-shirt that would be put on the avatar. This way you could still use gamerpics that were bought. I am not sure how size would play into this the gamerpic might not be too big... But it was just a thought.

I downloaded this and listened to it on my ipod. The announcements sound great. In particular the new 'xbox experience' sounds amazing. Some of the new games sound good too especially the new Fable, i wouldn't normally play this type of game but it sounds irresistable. Great announcements here. Cheers Major Nelson.

I hate these avatar things. They look creepy in a BAD way.

They are, like, Little kid, things!

Half of the games on Xbox are rated "M"!! WTF is wrong with you people?

If we are going to have Avatars...PLEASE MAKE THEM LOOK COOL!!

Do I HAVE TO pick one? Can I NOT pick ANY of those G.A.Y. things?

No offence but i really don't like the new dashboard i like the blades and stuff from the xbox it makes it the xbox but adding avatars and stuff just makes it fell like playing a Wii i hope we get an option in this.

After watching all three events there were somethings I liked about each system.

For the 360 I'd have to say Gears and Fallout got me excited, while the new dashboard looks pretty good (except for avitars, yuk!)

On the Wii. Wii Music and Sports both look really fun, as does Snowboarding.

I hate to say it since I don't even own one(yet), but the PS3 looks really strong for this year, I know fanboys will cry but as an adult male gamer and not a 12 year old girl (whom it seems microsoft and nintendo are trying to win over) they just look to be heading in the right direction. Even their network keeps looking better and better, and that free to use.

This is just my own personal opinion, and I don't force it on anyone else.

Well, having just followed the coverage of Sony and Nintendo's E3 pressers... I think MS/Xbox team wins... Sony and Nintendo pressers seemed pretty boring...

All 3 had very few surprises... (the new Dashboard surprised me, if not others). And the new MAG (massive action game) for ps3 is pretty cool. That seems to be where PSN/PS3 beats Xbox Live... large scale user games. I guess you need dedicated servers, not peer servers. Is that not something Live can do?

I'm looking forward to some of the Nintendo stuff coming out (GTA on my DS, and the new Wii sports title etc with my kids)

I dunno... time will tell, so far I'm happy with my household's 2 360's, 4 DS lites, a Wii and some older consoles just collecting dust (Soul Calibur II has just been picked up by my son though on the Xbox 1 at the cottage.... W00t, good times)

Still no SUPER drive to get the PS3... except for a BD player.

Great news. I am really happy to see that Final Fantasy 13 is coming to the Xbox 360. I can't wait to buy this game.

I hope that the avatars are optional. I hate the damn things. By the look of it though they are going to completely replace the gamerpics. Is that true? Also the new dash doesn't look like it uses the Themes either. Is MS going to be providing refunds for all the content no longer useable by the new Xbox 360ii???

Also, did you notice how the new things were called channels? So thats been stolen from the Wii. Avatars that can be used in games. Wii again! Plus the new "wii-like" motion sensing controll on the horizon. FFS, can't MS think or do anything itself. I have an Xbox as I find the way it works and interface better than my Wii which I hardly play on. Last thing I want is my Xbox looking and feeling like my Wii. I'll end up goping back to just playing on my PC again!

There are some good features in the news though. The multi-person chat is well past due anyway.
