when the original Cagney update came out i got an error running it the 1st time, thats when I was enlightened to fo the DL and not be playing any games CD or live arcade while its doing the DL..I did that and the cagney update worked..I did the same thing for the morotbikes update, sat back, let it do the DL alone..I did dnothing , played nothing while the DL came down..update worked have had no issues..yet..

to the people with the problems

"content pack corrupted" or something you need to delete the first pack we got :)

in this new one it has both tied in together thats why its giving some people problems.

I downloaded this on the day it came out and i wasn't really sure at first but ya know what, everyone should get burnout and the updates. Its brilliant !

Not only does it irritate me, it makes me buy everything I can on PS3 and the rest on the 360. That way I am not supporting MS more than I have to, and they get most of their profit from software sales, not hardware sales. I got Burnout Paradise on PS3... the bikes update is live, works perfectly, and is FREE for ALL users RIGHT NOW. It's called better customer service... it's called not charging for access to patches, peer-to-peer multiplayer and pay-for-download content... it's called COMMON SENSE.

I understand you guys love your 360s and your XBL... I do too... but at the end of the day you can (and should) still be pissed off you're paying for something that should be free.

Another thing if Sony ever does overtake xbox in sales then xbox live will still continue to be subscription based. They never had any issues with live sales on the original console even after Sony had taken the best selling console crown.

Microsoft is doing a great job with live and it should be recognised.

piss off microshaft its so lame what you guys do while I'm waiting for my 1 year card to come in the mail I at least thought I could play some single player bikes. Should have known from "my xbox experience" since I got my xbox earlier this year...you guys wouldn't be that cool. You going to wait till sony passes you in sales to make live free?? I know how hard its going to be to give up selling those subscriptions but get freaking real and do it already.

Why so many people are complaining about "no crashes" on this game is beyond me! Yes you see some crashes but you don't see the person getting mangled. Take a closer look at the car crashes and you will see that there is nobody in the car when it crashes. I have found that speeding up the crashes has made the game much easier to play as it flows a lot better. I hate watching a slow motion crash knowing that I could be racing instead of being a spectator to my own carnage.

Anon 42 All moterbikes have handbrakes. The rear wheel brake is operated by foot and the front brake is operated by hand.

The game is rated in the UK as 3+ (I don't know the US rating) but if it included bodies flying then the rating would rise. DLC cannot be released that would increase a rating (certainly in the UK) As for now handbrake, er, which motorcycle has a handbrake? Oh, none of them. Great update, shame there is only the challenges on the bikes to do and the offline burning race/midnight run. Can't complain for free. The "corrupt DLC" issue does need highlighting. Deleting the "cagney" update solves it but not everyone knows. Kudos to Criterion or should that be Bizarre creations ;-)

Thanks to EA and Criterion for the free updates and content. I downloaded the Bike DLC last night and played it for a couple of hours. Unfortunately, it won't save the game from being traded in. While B:PC is a gorgeous game, the change from the closed circuit racing has made the game boring. The navigation in Paradise City is just bad. I have to agree with DemonChild's comments about the Bike DLC too.
