I was re-listening to this show on my way back from class today for the Fallout 3 interview and my zune had a rather hilarious glitch where the playback speed of the podcast was somehow doubled, creating what sounded to be the first "chipmunk's on caffine talking about xbox live" podcast. It made me laugh, but it was also very disturbing to hear words like "Quantum of Solice" and "Fallout" pop out of the squirrel like jibberish.

Sadly XBConnect and Kai are all but done due to M$. What you are doing when you use those services is tunneling. Now M$ games are a no go today. With most games that are released today, they have a ping limiter. So when u use these programs you are pretty much playing online with a LAN. Or at least thats what you are tricking the game to do. Problem is, is that on most LAN's are around 5-8ms. No tricking the LAN into a WAN is is going to exceed that (around 30-100ms depends on location as well). So and of the day M$ ping limiter is the answer to rid to XBconnect and XKAI. They obviously dont want them around so this was 1 of their ways to keep people ONLY on XBL.

Gargh, I get an e-mail and all I see is "Xbox" so my heart skips a beat, but then I realise it's a newsletter for music games on the Xbox. :P

actually i hope they banned everyone who downloaded the nxe early so that microsoft will lose a big percentage of live players and money to,everybody will go to torrent sites and download every game there is and play on xlink kai which is a free service like live...

To be fair Major knows they are going to roll out more NXE's to the people that did not "FIT" in the first wave. He knows the amount of people and he knows the date it will happen. Major would not bring it up without an agenda. I was able to register but did not get selected. I really only wanted the NXE prior to GOW 2 (Parties and installing to the hard drive) would have been nice to tie in with THE BIGGEST MICROSOFT GAME LAUNCH OF THE YEAR. Microsoft knows they did not hit the best ship window on NXE, but not all things happen as we like. SO it would make sense for Major to send out another wave prior to Gears 2, but it seems like we already would have heard if it was going to happen this weekend. Once we start playing GOW2 we will not even remember who NXE is....

the whole point is stop teasing us that's why a vast majority of people downloaded the leak because of that,

he should come out and say it if there or not don't keep people waiting or their hopes up a lot of these kids are just hoping mostly. most of u agree with me on this i know it's not his job but he shouldn't say something he isn't gonna do don't joke around on the podcast just to get people to listen to you it's not fair maybe.

DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT USE TOWEL TRICK!!! The whole towel trick is not worth the risk reward. All your doing is reheating the system and letting it get so hot that you create a connection that was lost due to a cold solder, as the balling on the GBA losses contact (my buddy did a reball about 2 wks ago, still waiting for result by giving month or 2 to see if reballing with Using normal solder with lead). GPU seems to be the culprit most of the time. As of why M$ still uses 90nm as opposed to 65 (which cpu is for that matter) people are still guessing. Rumors of the new jasper or Opus motherboards with new chipset are floating about. What happens is that the 360 was poorly designed and your board starts to generate so much heat that bending of the board will occur. (anyone done X_Clamp :P) Back to what i was saying about the towel trick though, by using the towel trick you can possibly burn or your ethernet port or even just as bad the scalar chip (ANA or HANA). If you are under warranty SEND IT IN!!!!! If not then repairs on your own aint as bad you think, just some AS-5 and a few tools. So you have some options. Ive been working on consoles since the ps2. So if you have any questions i can give u a hand, but best thing to do is SEND IT IN IF YOU ARE UNDER WARRANTY. Just gonna have to bite the bullet. Sorry buddy dont know else to tell ya, send it in or fix urself are your only options.
