I like all kinds of different music, country being one of my top favorites. And if anything, their branching out of different music would entice me more so to shed out the money to buy Rock Band. I love that Rock Band is willing to put out different kinds of music, even if it isnt rock. As long as it works with the games instruments. As far as im concerned "Rock Band" is just a name. Just like "Burger King" and "Pizza Hut" are names. I'm not gonna walk into those places and say "A salad isn't a pizza!! Whats it doing in a place called Pizza Hut?!?!" Or pitch a fit because Burger King is selling anything that isn't a burger. Lighten up people. If the song is fun to play/sing, who gives a damn what genre it is.

These are some boring country songs lol That Miranda Lambert chick must have really been screwed over.. all her songs are about getting back at some guy or another.. maybe it is not them, maybe it is her.

I think, if you are going to release country, you should release better, faster country songs (if that is possible)

Also, it would be nice to have somewhere to go for lists of upcoming DLC for Rock Band/ RB2.. is there such a page / site ?

"Gunpowder & Lead", "Mud on the Tires" and "Sin Wagon" are the ONLY ones that truly interest me after sampling. Since I ONLY know of the Dixie Chicks, I'm going to sit back and wait for the 80 MS Point price break.

I had a discussion online with a few fellow Rockbandians and the first question was "how do we emulate a sax and a trumpet?" But the 'worst' part is "You put your lips on the instruments, which means only that person can use it."

The Blues would be awesome, but emulate all the instruments effectively.

The only problem i have is that its a genre outside of rock. i found it more acceptable to have southern rock.

i also agree to whoever mentioned that the general rb user isnt really into country and any country fan isnt going to spend over a hundred dollars for five songs.

i personally believe that if harmonix was going to leave the rock genre they should've created other games to encompass that and not just a measly few songs that arent even in the genre the game is named after.

oh well, i guess i'll have to ignore this weeks releases since country is obviously not my cup of tea.

Yes, Pulse Racer, you were right when you said Garth won't sell his stuff to iTunes. He will however sell his soul to Walmart for the right price though :-) He needs to lighten up and give fans more outlets in my opinion.

Also, to whoever said something about blues music... I second that. Bring it on!

Hmm, after playing LIPS' John Cash's Ring of Fire, I got my wish and boy was it answered. Though even though it had me gasping just a tad for my breath, I'd still love to play it on Rock Band(2). It's DLC and I'm sure they keep stats of what sells, has sold and what's sitt'in on the shelf rotting.

I'm not a hardcore anything, but I do like to sing (try to sing) songs that are fun. Battery is a song I would have never thought to sing if I hadn't joined a random online band. Love the song.

Diversity is always welcome in my house, though the these selection are a bit odd. I'll try to sample them later today hopefully.

is this the best selection of songs?

Brad Paisley's "I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin' Song)." would have been great.

Well, I'm not going to blast them for this. However, it is a little odd the choices of the songs. Since the name of the game is "Rock Band", I think its safe to say that your average hardcore country fan did not shell out over $100 for it. On top of that, a measly 5 songs is not going to make said country fan shell out over $100 bucks for it.

Therefore, the target audience for this pack is Rock Band owners, who I imagine are mostly classic and hard rock fans. I am in that category. There are some mainstream country songs I like. I, however, have not heard of ANY of these songs. They would have done better to go with crossover country/pop songs that the Rock Band fan may have heard of The Dixie Chicks "Goodbye Earl" immediately spring to mind. Maybe that "Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy" song I hear a bunch. I have no idea what the Dixie Chicks song in this pack even sounds like.

Just my .02 cents on what I (and a few of my country music loving family) view as a bit of odd marketing.

Nice to see some variety! All the little emo kids that are crying can just go back to there corner and well... cry. lol! As mentioned before some Stevie Ray Vaugn and Clapton would be great.

Yeh, I said that, but then while on a random splurge search on youtube music videos (a place you can see the videos for free by the companies that produce them), I heard TLC's 'Damage' that was rock and Janet Jackson's 'Just A Little While' was also rock. Both songs have all the instruments: guitar, bass, drum, vocals. I do not buy much DLC as none of it pertains to me.

As Ganon255 said there SHOULD be a variety. I bet you $5 if Harmonix got the rights (this would almost never happen) to release Konami Game Tracks Remix, I bet it would be number 1 download for a month. I'd buy it just for the Castlevania track or some of the Dance Dance Revolution Tracks.

Maybe a Variety Pack for Rock Band = Not Exactly Rock songs?
