Noone save for a very few wants trash like this for content, specialy if it's going to cost XBL points.Father's Day Theme....oh come on, give me a break."Class of 2006" theme?

This week's content update has to be the very worst i have ever seen.If it wasn't being charged for, it was dumb ass publicity videos for crap like Entourage.

I'm hoping that one of the dashboard updates will provide full theme & gamer pic previews rather than the teeny-tiny little thumbnails. I've already learned my lesson after buying a couple of themes based on said thumbnails, and won't be buying any more until previews area available on my 360 (the xbox.com site is *not* convenient when I'm sitting in front of my TV already looking at my 360...)

And all this time I thought the 360 was geared towards adults with disposable income who can decide if something appealed to them they can actually buy it without griping about the price and if it didn't appeal to them they can gracefully dismiss it.

Free! Free! Everything should be FREE! I don't care if you spent 72 hours creating content and another 120 hours making sure it's not buggy on my 360 and the money it takes to upload it to your servers and download it to my console. It should be free damnit! I should be able to profit from all your hardwork and I deserve to get it for FREE. After all when I graduate from high school I won't be able to play with my 360 because I'll be in college and I need to get FREE stuff now!

150 points? No thank you. To put a bunch of ties on my 360 background? What am I, 60? Even if I was I wouldn't want to pay for such a theme.

Tip: Make stuff like 20 points and people will buy them just to see what they look like and never use it again ever in their life and you'll have the money in your pocket. That's microtransactions. 150 points? That's a full blown transaction there (considering what you are getting).

BOOOO!!!! For shame, Microsoft! I can certainly understand the appeal to charge for game and sport-based themes as NFL, NBA, etc. charge a bit more for officially licensed items, but to charge for a holiday or celebration-based theme? Seems kinda cheap to me. And by "kinda", I mean "very". To me, I dunno, maybe I'm being too criticial, but this announcement rubbed me the wrong way.

I'd probably actually buy a toilet theme.

I graduated in '95 and a toilet was one of our class symbols.

No. Really.

There was a long string of mild pranks involving toilets. One morning, when people arrived at the school, they found that a long line of toilets were parked in all the lot spaces. Toilets would mysteriously appear perched on the roofs of facilities. Toilets appeared at the 50 yard line around homecoming.

We were a strange bunch, but at least we all lived to tell the tale ('95 will survive was our corny ass slogan, but not one of us died, and we all graduated together).

Funny how their goals have changed after they launched the system and now have our money.

I'm afraid you're incorrect about this. I for one am a bit miffed at Mr. Moore's comments because this is clearly backing out on a publicly stated goal of the Xbox team. Here is a link to one of many news outlets which covered a quote directly from a member of the Xbox team:

Here is the key quote:

"Backward-compatibility is not the reason people buy a new system," said David Hufford, Microsoft Xbox group product manager. "The perception is that it is significant. We've put all our energy into new titles, but since our consumers have asked for it...we've made it a goal to make all titles backward-compatible."

Note the "all". Clearly they set the correct expectation that it would not come at launch or even shortly thereafter, but there it is in black-and-white.
