Grrrr....stop putting non-Live playable games in the list or including non-LIVE sessions in the list (i.e. people playing Call of Duty2 campaign and being signed into LIVE). That should be for internal consumption...we don't care about that. We care about what people are actually playing online.

Next Gen Begins With PS3 Not 360 — Mon, 03 Jul 2006 00:08:39 GMT

moose o death an overrated shooter with millions of complaints still dominates all of the "Next Gen, Half Way High Def" games of the Xbox 360. I wonder what will happen when Halo 3 comes out, your not going to have a 10 ten list of live games you'll just have the Bottom 8 games. SOCOM gets huge number online on PS2 and PSP and has alot more going on then the glitchy Halo 2. Prey sucks also, another overrated shooter, where are the great platform games? RPGs? Fighting? Racing? Not on a Xbox or 360, there on PS2, PSP, and soon the PS3. The major is just upset with everyone because just like the peopel at Microsoft, he gets angry when people asks the same questions he does not want to answer. Street Fighter wont be out this summer folks, look for it in September.

So, is there any chance of going back to the original layout where we just had "the top ten" istead of the top 20? It's much more enjoyable to see one list, and see how 360 is fairing against the original. Yes, I know that halo will still be number one... but it seemed really useful to see which 360 games were earning the attention of more customers. Having a top ten for 360 alone seems like a good idea, just not yet. "The Top Ten" of 360 games played is 1/3 of the games for the system right now. Maybe the top ten for 360 can come back separately for the 360 when there are more games for the system. Right now, no offense.. but it seems a little hoaky. keep up the great work, love the podcast! -Cypher

Yeah, for games that are meant for fun, I found it very bizarre that fanboys would go at lengths to demand for demos/Xbox Live Arcade titles. The only thing I really want to happen is the Backwards Compatibility emulation to be top-notch and perfect, and I don't talk to Major Nelson about that because he doesn't directly deal with it. That's what backcomp@microsoft.com is for. :D

Major and MS are the ones who put themselves in this position, so they can hardly blame, let alone complain about, gamers being upset with not getting content they expect.

The last first party Microsoft game came out last November. Yep, that's right. And we haven't seen a new arcade game since UNO during E3.

The reason the Prey demo took so long is because it had been designed so you could save during the single-player campaign, but Microsoft has a rule where no demos can allow saves. So they had to go back and fix that. Thanks, MS...

@aries I love a Mech game - I owned Steel Batallion and completed it and I don't like Chromehounds - by all means download it everyone but it is sparse and feels like an average Xbox game, never mind a top quality next gen mech game. Oh for Steel Batallion 360 whic will never happen *sniff*.

I agree,here majornelson says people should relax its only games that we play... Those people who take gaming seriously is the reason why you have a job at MS,and can go to the opening of Pirates of the carribean. We are not geeks but we paid a lot of money for our 360 and live,so we have the right to be angry when keep quiet at wrong times.
