If you hear the echo, the problem is with someone else in your session. The issue can be easily fixed by having the person

Re:

The echo is the same reason why radio hosts tell people to turn down their radios... it's feedback. Someone doesn't understand that you can't have the game at full surround sound and 100dbs and have conversations... someone is talking (with game voice output set to speaker) or noises from the game get picked up by the person's (who has their stereo up) headset and it gets retransmitted... thus the ugly cycle of feedback. Maybe cleaning it does the trick, but even on the old xbox, people would turn down their stereos and it would fix it.

Re:

Is echo the only thing that is being heard when using the new headset? There are very few wireless Xbox controllers with communicator support (from the controller, not a dongle) and at least one only has half-duplex (talk or listen) audio. I assume the 360 has full-duplex audio but it is still limited by the bandwidth of the wireless connection. Any radio-frequency encoded audio going to sound worse than the wired Live headsets we're all used to. Additionally, the limitation is the wireless reciever and although 3rd party controllers will come out, they will be forced to work with the built-in receiver. The bad audio might be here to stay. Maybe they'll optimize the software compression.

Re:

These audio issues need to be acknowledged and addressed immediately.
