The return of The Deal of the Week

After the successful run the deal of the week had last December, we’re bringing it back on a regular basis.  Starting Monday, February 23rd Xbox LIVE Gold members will receive a discount on a different piece of content each week (Arcade games, Game Add-Ons, Xbox Originals.)

With this announcement of the program, I am also able to give you a tip on what the first deal of the week will be.
Braid the award winning Xbox LIVE Arcade title normally 1200 points will be available for Gold Members in all Xbox LIVE regions starting Monday for only 800 points, a 33% savings.

Braid will be available for the special price after Monday February 23rd at 13:00 GMT/0800ET/0500 PT *

Here are some details around the program:
The special deal pricing is available for Gold Members only
I’ll post the new deal each Monday morning when it becomes available at the special price
The Marketplace team is doing their best to make a Deal of the Week available in Xbox LIVE regions
*You must be signed in as a Gold Member on the web marketplace to see the lower prices

Coming later this month, Xbox LIVE Gold members will also have exclusive access to steep discounts on Game Add-ons for Ninja Gaiden II and Project Gotham Racing 4, as well as the original Xbox classic, Fable.

Fable add on, if cheap, enough I might get it.

I love the return of Deal of the Week and more specifically for a discounted Braid.

@Turtle502: Honestly, I’d rather see a DotW than Permanent Price Drops, because I only need to buy a game once. Permanent price drops will only be on a handful of games, and I’d much rather get a new discounted game each week than 4 or 5 permenent drops for the next 6 months.

It’s funny. I waited to buy this thinking that Braid would probably be one of those deal of the week or some other type of deal events. Anyways I did end up buying it earlier this week. Its just funny how things work out that way.

Anyone who hasn’t picked it up should pick this title up now.

Woot! Glad to hear that this is returning. I’m still upset I missed out on the Halo deal.

It is good that game(s) are going down (even if they have to be in “Deals Of The Week”). Ill pick up Braid.

I was just about to purchase Braid…it states it is 800, deal of the week, but as I was about to purchase, it went back to 1,200 points???

I am from Canada, if that makes a difference?

Braid would have been a day one purchase for me but that 50% XBLA price hike was – and still is – a bit too much. Sure, the game itself might have been worth it but then again, you could also say any triple-A retail game could just as well sell for $90 rather than $60 simply because it’s worth it.

It’s a pity to hear that these kind of deals are going to be Gold only from now but just the same, many thanks to the marketing team for allowing me to join all the Braid loving people without having to sacrifice my principles (of simply not paying more than 800MP for an XBLA release, even if it was the best thing ever).

I purchased. I dislike the game but my girlfriend likes it. I hope penny arcade episode 1 gets a price drop. I don’t think i’ll ever spend 1600 points on a downloadable game.

You’ve got a bug in your deal of the week – this shows as 1200 MSP in the first blade if you’ve already downloaded the trial – says “Unlock for 1200”. Easy work around by going to “All Downloads” where it then shows the correct discounted price.
