Wooo! A demo! last time they had a wrestling demo was for smackdown vs raw 07! 08 and 09 didnt have a demo for some reason.

Oh YEHHH!! The review of this (Game Informer) got me amped as THIS was my time of wrestling right as it became too ‘hollywood’ for me to watch or care for. I wonder of Rowdy Roddy Piper and Jake the Snake Roberts are going to make it in the final? I have not had interest in wrestling since WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game. Before that it was Wrestlemania on SNES. Cool move and comeback (with ‘arcade-style’ play hopefully).

You obviously haven’t played any of the games, if you think this is exactly the same.

Come to think of it, They did have a demo for 08 for people who preordered it at gamestop, I remember that, dont think 09 had one though. At first I was thinking of 07 having a demo on Live where you could download it as to where they didnt have any demos to download for 08 and 09.

Seems a bit odd though also that 07 on the 360 had a collectors edition but 08 and 09 have had collectors editions only for the ps3, seems THQ has been leaning towards ps3 collections editions. Ive always wondered why on that.

Controlling and gameplay seems a bit lame to me.
Hope they fix the interacting with stuff before it gets to full retail.

Hate to say it but this game seems abit pants to me. I was really looking forward to this, but I tried the demo and the controls are just horrible. They would of done alot better if they had given the game the same Smackdown controls, its easier and has a deeper move set than this has. I know the reason its not SvR controls is cuz its from a diff franchise, its basically a new version of Ledgends of the Ring game, but to be honest both of those past games sucked too. Shame about this as the roster of stars is excellent but the actual gameplay is not up to standard at all. I think this will get 45 -60% in reviews.

The presentation and such is great, I really enjoyed a lot of the game. Watching a preview of past Wrestlemania’s and then having to take part in the match and having to complete as many of the objectives as you can is a great idea, it’s far more interesting than anything the Smackdown games have ever done.

However, as others have said the controls are just awful. Ignoring the fact they’ve been horribly over simplified, much of the match now comes down to basic quick time events.. Just isn’t any fun to play at all.

Patch in the controls from the Smackdown games, and it’d be an instant buy. Until then, stay far, far away.

As said, great presentation but the controls will loose the devs a ton of money. Where is the fun in QTE’s? (quick timed events). Button mashing with such a method is one of the poorest types of control methods around and the game seems to totally rely on it. I was hoping that it would have control like SvR2007 – at least that was understandable. I knew the game was too good to be true.
