Major, the “add to your queue” link took me to the U.S. marketplace page though your nice links have usually led to the appropriate marketplace for respective user who click on them.

Surely the Legendary Map Pack should now be free (just like what happened to heroic maps when legendary came out)….Im waiting….

[OFF TOPIC, but related to Halo Universe]
With the Spartan (female) in Dead or Alive 4, are we going to see her (or him) in ANY other fighting game such as Tekken 6? I liked that game/genre cross-over and have been wanting to ask that for quite some time now.

As I understand it the Legendary maps will never be free. Will these mythic maps be the same way? I know I’m buying them but basically none of my friends are. If they don’t become free then I will never get to play them with anyone I know.

The biggest problem I have with the Halo 3 maps not being free, is that some of the regular playlists (like social big team battle, the only game mode I’ve ever enjoyed in Halo 2/3) actually REQUIRE premium DLC. So basically I have to pay extra to unlock gamemodes that USED to be available to me at launch if I want to keep playing..😦 (Please don’t start with the $10 isn’t a lot of money argument, I know it isn’t, but its a matter of principle that I don’t pay for maps)

I hate how Bungie makes us pay for these maps if we want to continue to play online rounds. I always thought the Legendary pack would be free. What a ripoff, I can’t even play the game properly anymore.

I just quit playing Halo online. COD4 is better (imo) when it comes to a personal preference for realism. AND I can still play with my friends and enjoy ALL the game modes without the Variety map pack (I miss SWAT). I still love the Halo campaigns, but the $10 for the maps every time is just stupid and I refuse. All of my friends are with me on this (no joke). No one has paid for nor will pay for Halo maps. Bungie – You screwed up on this. MS – Quit being a tool!

@cryptoElite: there are playlists that only need the free DLC, don’t be such a penny-squeezer, legendary was deal of the week just a couple of weeks ago.
plus do you have any clue just how frustrating it was to owners of the legendary map pack that the content they paid for was basically unused on ranked?

Don’t forget MS can pull the plug on online service for any XBL game at any time they feel fit to do so.

Get a darn job if you find 10$ a lot, 10$ is about one hour of work, the maps Bungie made were whole months of work, do the friggin’ math.

I can’t play the FFA modes that was my main playlist. I assumed the Legendary pack would be free at some time. I never played a whole lot of Halo 3 online as it is.

I think they should make it so if you don’t have the DLC you can at least still play any mode you want. The only reason they lock out people who don’t pony up the cash is they know most people will pay.

MS could block games if they wanted to, but people would drop their Live subscriptions if they blocked a popular game like Halo. It doesn’t cost MS THAT much to run all the P2P matchmaking.

Regular $10 fees, on top of the Live subscription fees, ON TOP of $60 for the game are a lot just to continue playing what I was able to play before.

For what it’s worth, a LOT of other developers do a LOT more work and sometimes even give that content away for free. Halo is popular so Bungie and MS know they can milk the community.
