I liked Project Natal, when he first said motion sensor I was like “Oh, no… please no” But I think it turned out to be better😀

I agree when I first heard that… i cringed a bit. it was especially hard since I was following along with MN live blog and other blogs… no visuals.

but the comments from people who actually got to watch seem to be overwhelmingly positive and optimistic.

can’t wait to get off work and check out some videos!

@PsychoFemm I watched it at xbox.com I missed the first half hour because it just wouldn’t work, but in the end it was great… Here’s a link to the whole thing but you’ll have to wait before you can watch it, needs to encode the video or something..

The first 2/3 of the presser had my attention, I was interested, excited, and looking forward to more… but then the Natal was rolled out, and spoiled the party. I see the market for something like this, it makes business sense, but the last time I turned on my Wii was over a year ago. Why should I be interested in it, as a core user? It feels like MS is saying “thanks for your support and money, but I have a new flame, and its not you. Can we just be friends?”

No, we can’t. Not after putting up with the broken consoles, the DRM issues, the investment I’ve already made in your console to the tune of thousads of dollars. The way I see it, you owe me something better than minigames, shovelware, and “Wii HD.”

Can you picture a Halo game with this thing? What do I do, point my finger at the screen, and shout “PEW, PEW, PEW?”

Let me tell you how much this excited me

I would trade it all for a fixed guide button

and maybe throw in a dolly watch

Major, could you pass the word onto xbox.com, that we need a new “sort by” option for the marketplace on xbox.com. Finding new game videos under popularity and title is hard to do when they first release. Unless I’m missing something…Thanks : )

They are going to speed up the guide. Marc Whitten’s letter for E3 2009 explains it:

Performance Updates. We know that the details also matter. That’s why we’re making a series of updates based on your feedback. First and foremost, the entire Xbox LIVE service is being upgraded for improved performance including better guide and friends access. Some other things we’ve done based on your feedback include revamping the friends sorting list, Achievement views and improving our matchmaking support. There’s always room to improve, and your input really matters to us…so keep it coming!

The rest of the letter is here: http://www.vg-reloaded.com/?p=2450

1 year for a fix is pushing it a tad dont you think?

YAY if they have fixed the guide/marketplace lag problems. I for one am fed up of going to download a arcade game, having to wait a minute or two for the download trial game link and information to appear. Then if I want to buy it the buy link takes twice as long to appear. I have downloaded so many less demos/trials since NXE because its too painful due to the delays.

It always seemed to me that the problem was that the servers are in the US so those of us outside the US get a lower priority. This is not deliberate act by Microsoft mind you, its the nature of the Internet itself. If there are a lot of people with low latency close to the server they can effectively drown out those with higher latency.

Something similar used to happen long ago on my home network where PCs running Win98 would barely work if I had a download running on a Linux box, as the Win98 networking layer was so much slower. It balanced itself out when I upgraded to WinXP as its networking was so much better.

all the new announcements are great and all but they should have done more with Zune integration… last.fm is nice but zune marketplace should have stepped up as a platform and provided this service like its somewhat doing with the videos. Seriously this Microsoft supporting Canadian wants his Zune Marketplace on his Zune in his own country god dammit! I shouldn’t have to use region tricking just to see the damn thing in the zune software…
