£14.99 for Crackdown is a lot better than the usual £19.99…hope this is a sign if things to come

£14.99 is kinda worth it for Crackdown but I do recall seeing it go for like £6-10 a while back.

Skills for kills, agent. Skills for kills.

    Or something.

Man Crackdown was awesome! If you haven’t played it yet $20 is definitely worth it!

Beautiful Katamari is a marvelous game, and deserves a spot on the rest of the world’s games on demand, as it can be difficult to find.

The pricing still leaves much to be desired on these titles. Crackdown can be had used for less than $10 sometimes.

Since when do publishers compete with the used market? You can always get a game cheaper by buying it used. The publisher isn’t going to compete with that and reduce the price of new copies. It’s always been that way. I don’t know why people think it should suddenly change now that we’ve got Games on Demand.

I agree with Rykin Poe. You can buy a brand new sealed copy of the-auction-site-who-will-not-be-named for about $10 or $11. If the creators and publishers want to cut into the used game market they have to get a little smarter about pricing on almost-three-year-old games.

Why would Microsoft want to compete with a private auctioneer? For all you know, that person bought Crackdown over two years ago and forgot he had it. Twenty bucks isn’t going to break the bank, and the game’s actually more expensive on Amazon ($24.70).

Do you really think they’ll sell a first-party game from 2007 for $15? Just think about it and you’ll realize how ridiculous that sounds. $20 is good for this game, especially since it is cheaper than online retail.

    …So how come $20 comes to £14.99?

    Currently, it should be:

    $20 = 20* 0.60143 = £12.03

WHERE DID £3 COME FROM? Stupid M$.

I think I might have to buy the Crackdown add-on now. I didn’t really think that $10 was worth it, but for $5 I think I will get it.

And you think ur being screwed CaptainCaterpie, I would have to pay €19,95 instead of €13,25 (which is 19.99 U.S. dollars)

Hooray for the Crackdown DLC price drop. I’ve been wanting to get it for a bit but didn’t care to spend 800 points on it.

@CaptainCaterpie we have to pay V.A.T. on everything(Coca cola, video games, underwear,LOL you name it) in the UK,which i am not sure if it still stands at 15% because of the recession or has gone back to 17.5%..but that gets added on the UK price anyway

It’s nice to see some great old DLC like the Gettin’ Busy Bonus Pack getting an actual PERMANENT price drop for a change! Maybe we can finally start getting some permanent price drops on other old DLC too?

One could only hope. There are plenty of older games I won’t buy because over priced DLC is out for it. Pretty messed up when you can get some of these games used for cheaper than the DLC is for them.

Well, £14.99 for Crackdown is better than the ludicrous usual £19.99, but it’s still unrealistic. This game sold in droves due to the Halo beta, so it’s now very widely available. I picked it up for £4 second hand from Amazon. The going rate currently looks to be less than £5.
As for Beautiful Katamari. Great game, but it is the DICTIONARY DEFINITION OF RIP-OFF. Makes “horse armour” look like a tempting deal. Practically 50% of the disk content needs to be “unlocked” via DLC purchased “keys”. Around the world this was marketed as a “budget” title (due to all the DLC), but in the UK they tried to sell it at a PREMIUM price (?!). I remember seeing it for sale everywhere in both London and Manchester for £49.99. What a joke – makes a complete mockery of Major’s claims regarding DLC rules.

    Mass Effect: US$92.64 (Australia) – US$19.99 (US).
    Crackdown: US$27.79 (Australia) – US$19.99 (US).

Other than just to make a few extra bucks because us Australian’s are used to getting ripped off already by EBGames; whats the official company line (lie?) for this disparity?

All Sony has to do is to distribute their games online for cheaper and people will jump ship.
