Is there a special reason why most of the Games on Demand are not available in Japan?

Got this game in a controller bundle when I bought my Elite. It is quite good.

I loved this game to bits. I was a HUGE fan on the N64 games and personally, I think it copped too much backlash than it deserved. Its a solid title – fun too – and highly recommended for family game nights or just some laid back gaming. Sure its not the platformer that its predecessors were, but I think Rare took a risk and delivered on it.
Oh, and while you’re at it, buy the original Banjo Kazooie and its sequel Banjo Tooie from XBLA. :p

Also, the Australian Xbox team should really consider lowering the price for Games on Demand. AUD$69.95 vs $19.95 in the States? C’mon!

@WiCkEd Co 80: A platformer it ain’t but if you’re looking forwards to a bright and cheerful, challenging, and surprisingly long GTA-esque game where you build your own way to solve any given mission, it’s not bad at all. I think I spent around 16 hours just to play it through and although it was way too infuriating for me, there’s a whole lot of game for those who like it. Granted, an actual copy for €13 beats Games on Demand’s digital copy for €30 but that’s already a given with this program.

Really disappointing to see that you are charging Canadians double. I can understand the $10 extra at retail because you have to pack in a French manual and ship it over a wider area to a much smaller customer base.
But this is just a digital copy. It’s the exact same disc image, no matter who downloads it. Games on Demand needs to have one, worldwide US price for all titles.

Gamestop is selling new copies for the same price.

Digital = CHEAPER than retail, micrososft. CHEAPER. Not the same, not more. Cheaper. Get it right.

If you haven’t played this yet, do so immediately. If download is too pricey, a retail copy can be had for $20 most places in the US. BK: Nuts & Bolts is a unique gem of a game. I loved every minute of it. Building your own vehicles was super fun. Highly recommended.

I LOVE the first 2 games, but I kinda hated this one since it’s NOT a Banjo game anymore (after 10 years of waiting… damn you Rare) but a crappy vehicles game with Banjo characters.
It seemed that Rare was going to listen to old fans and make a more platform-ish sequel, but I’ve heard that the sequel was canned because Micro$oft wants them to work on Natal only… seriously hope that it’s not true…

There’s nothing crappy about this game at all. Very good twist on the Banjo/Kazooie universe–in fact, I dare say it’s the most fun I’ve had playing a hybrid platformer/Pilotwings type of game since Mario 64/Pilotwings 64 back in the day.

What seems to be the common theme with this game and its critics is their lack of imagination–if you don’t have the mental chops to imagine and create new/exciting vehicles, then this game is going to be very crappy in your estimation, as the base vehicles are far from exciting (as they are meant to be).

And there’s plenty of platforming to be had, especially in the overworld. In fact, I should give it a go again. It was a really good game…

I LOVED the N64 games but this one wasn’t as fun to
me. I think it was because of the whole car thing. I didn’t like to have to
build a damn car the whole time.

Hmm, I’ll consider getting this one – but later on. I liked creating stuff in the demo, so whenever I get the spare cash I’ll check it out.

I live in Canada and this game is twice the price of the US version. Is this a mistake because most games are 5$ more not double. N & B was going to be my first games on demand purchase, until I saw the price. Are money is almost the same right now so this does not make sense. Please fix this.

There is no way Microsoft can sell digital copies for less than retail. Who would buy retail then? Next to no one. MS would get sued; I’m not sure what for but there must be something wrong with making hard copies of games. Publishers and retailers alike would be up in arms.

Current GOD prices should be cheaper than they are right now. No doubt. I don’t want them cheaper than retail, I just want them to be competitive. For A Few Dollars More, as they say.

Gears of War was £20 on the Marketplace. On Amazon it’s £8.99 new. On GoD, it should be £10.

Games On Demand really needs some universal pricing, the current price difference is staggering.
    $69AU for a game which is $20US,

Games On Demand should have a single US dollar price point ie $15US and every country pays a similiar US dollar conversion, so $20AU not the staggering $69 we are used to, I can get a brand new MW2 for $69 with change to spare to buy Nuts & Bolt as that game is currently $10 Brand New here!

At $70 AU, Microsoft can shove it where the sun doesn’t shine!

Microsoft… The Aussie Dollar is not worth 1/3rd of the US currency, it never has, never will, and your prices should god darn reflect that! Stop trying to rob your customers!

Just because we are a potentially smaller market and can afford to pay more than most other countries, doesn’t mean you can get away with inflated pricing, I honestly hope any sane person laughs and goes elsewhere, because to put bluntly this is crap, scale of economies Microsoft, scale. – Lower pricing means more VOLUME of sales and hence you could probably achieve MORE profit.

The other sad reality is that the 1st party games tend to be more expensive LONGER than the 3rd party games (Like Halo 3, Fable 2, Banjo Kazooi) both in retail and in Games on Demand, why is that? Some of the first party games aren’t as good as 3rd party developers anyway, so what gives? Just money hungry?

Next we will be paying $30 AU for Perfect Dark in the Arcade… or $50 for Halo 2 (If it ever arrives!)
