Both demos dropped, not very surprised, MWF2 holds the top spot, no surprise either with halo 3 following. Now that the halo:reach beta is set for may 3rd (that seems so far away!!!) it will be interesting to see how high that demo will get and how high it will stay till reach comes out…

It amazes me that Trials HD is still going as strong as it is, not only in the most played list but also the XBLA purchases.

That said, while I’m surprised, it’s definitely deserving.

Of course they’ve been playing it – it’s Call of Duty. Once you become an official fan I’m sure there’s some contractual obligation to play it consistently and always proclaim it’s better than everything else.

Glad to see BioShock 2 rise. Still haven’t tried it yet, though, so I dunno why I’m that glad. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it once I get around to it.

Again I had thought that the fact Trials appears on both lists shows that the second most played Arcade game is played almost as often as Borderlands, but if that was the case then Battlefield 1943 should also be up there in the top titles. So in fact more people were buying Battlefield (on sale) than playing it. OIC.

Major, to be clear, when you bold and underline “Full Versions purchased” four times, if it is in fact only counting sales and not UU’s, why not boost the semantic clarity and say “Sales of Full Versions”? Obviously I’ve been wrong to always read “purchased” in the past tense, meaning simply “not demos”. Phooey. :-p

You can typically tell an XBLA game is going to fail by reading the sales for the first week. Battlefield 1943 and Trials HD (both great games, but released many months ago) outsold The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom (a brand new title). While I am not saying Winterbottom wont sell at all, I am just saying a poor first week isn’t good. Typically, the first week is the most important. Its the only time you game will be heavily marketed by the press/media and in the thoughts of gamers. Starting the second week your game will no longer be on the Joystiq’s & Kotaku’s under new releases, you wont be seeing anymore ads on the Dashboard, and initial talk among potential customers will die down. If your title isn’t able to earn 1st. place in its first week then you better hope it has legs because the only thing that would save it is friend recommendation, which looks to be low considering it premiered in 3rd. place.

Its funny how carnage rules took a little offense to mr barrel rolls’s comment about “487” rockband/guitar hero games, when he has played 17 different games of that kind. I thought i played my xbox too much, he has played 710 different games, wow, not saying thats bad or anything, but thats a hell of a lot of games, well compared to my 22, haha.

Also it is odd to me that halo 3:ODST is still up there, im a big halo fan (not fanboy) but ODST was a bit of a letdown, firefight was fun, but i have not played in 2 months, i just never see the point in playing it anymore, but obviously the vast majority thinks otherwise. Not surprised that mass effect 2 dropped, i have never liked that game personally, and fifa 10 deserves more credit than it gets, its a great game.

Acctually barrel roll when WaW isn’t too bad now since all the aholes making life miserable in matchmaking have moved on to making life miserable in MW2 the game has improved.

I love Battlefield 1943…now if the connectivity issues would just be resolved. A group of friends I game with regularly tried for 45 minutes last night to get a match going to no avail.

I tried to join a match and kept getting told no matches could be found and to try again later. Another thing that has been happening with greater frequency is my connection to the match will drop during the match. Very frustrating.

-No surprise with MW2, ofcourse, but modders find a new glitch everyday. At least you can get in matches and find good ones due to sheer volume…unlike Gears 2, which I’m happy to see no longer in the top 10 for some time. Please EPIC, make Gears 3 right, its too cool a universe not to be able to spend more time in.
-FIFA 10 climbing. I’ve tried to avoid the annual EA sport iterations, but I might be picking that up late too as we get closer to the world cup😛.
-BF1943 on top of the sales, no doubt due to the BFBC2 hype. I am one of the many that got into BF because of 1943’s great overall package. I went back and played through BFBC1 and spent a lot of time on the multiplayer this past summer, maxing out my rank. A ton of fun, much more relaxed than COD.

@Bubblechucker – you’re right, and these are issues that have been going on and off since launch. EA always has server problems because they insist on doing things their way. I hope that they don’t underestimate the hype of BFBC2 and get the servers right.
Unfortunately, I’ll be giving EA more of my money as I plan on getting ME2 soon. Too many people are calling it the best game ever for me not to try it. I’m about to finish retroactively going through ME1.

how is it that Trials HD is #2 on the Arcade titles & #19 on the Live Title list but Battlefield 1943 which is #1 on the Arcade list not listed on the Live list, that’s weird.

Dude, they released that many Guitar Hero games and spin-offs in one year alone. Don’t start with that crap, saying that there are too many Halo games, considering there are 5 real Halo FPS games, and the one spin-off, over a span of, what, ten years? That’s not exactly a fair comparison to make.

And if you really want to see a milked series, look at Mario Party. They’re up to, what, 8?

And for the record, I play quite a bit more MW2 and, before that, CoD4, than I ever did Halo 3. You made a comment about having ODST armor? Yeah, well, derp derp, ITS FREE. I’m not going to go out and spend real money on dress up clothes. That would be retarded.
