Why is MS using $30 as a pricing point for these titles? They are old enough to pick up for under $20 on disk.

$20 is the sweet spot. I can say I’ll never spend a dime more than that on a G.O.D. title.

£15 for Shrek? £20 for Far Cry 2? £20 for Kane and Lynch?
Those games could be found for less than that weeks after launch!

@rogXue: Don’t worry… here in Europe we are supposed to pay 30EUR per title what is something around 40USD!😉
But we can get almost every god title here for half it’s xbl price on disk via Amazon. I wonder who buys this.

pssh neither of those games are worth more then 10 bucks … they both kinda suck …. who is ever going to pay such exorbitant prices to take up hard drive space when they can get the game on disc for so much less …. it is looking more and more like microsoft isn’t listening to us anymore and they are just going to give us what they think we need remember microsoft the minute you piss us off enough to go somewhere else there’ll be someone there to take our money

@Rogxue MS does not set the price its the Publisher so blame Ubisoft, but there are some good deals on GoD like beautiful katamari that game sells for $60 new or $28 used but on GoD it’s $20. So yes $20 is the sweet spot.

Holy garbage Batman. How does the good Major shill this stuff and still play up the Mr Community Buddy image? All three of these pieces of crap can be had for $10.99 or less used or $15.00 new where I live.

I can’t understand why Games On Demand are still overpriced. I would never be tempted to impulse buy. They must be selling…

Major Neslon, Please take a few moments to read what I’ve written here, concerning a very popular game myself (and many, many others) would like to see on Games on Demand.

Phantasy Star Universe is an online action RPG, with the Xbox page here:
    http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/ga…534507e3/?of=1
PSU (Phantasy Star Universe) has 1083% more ratings than your new Games on Demand release, Shrek The Third. It’s highly recommended with strong support from its userbase, both here in and worldwide.
Here’s the thread on the Wish List forum (97 replies, with more every day!):
    http://forums.xbox.com/32101261/ShowPost.aspx
Please give us what we want and put it up on GoD (Games on Demand), you will be doing us and many others a favor.

On the monetary side… Phantasy Star Universe is available used in stores for $5.99, however supply is extremely limited due to it’s popularity. If you were to put this in Games on Demand for $20, you would make an absolute killing, as I know over 200+ people who would shell out the $20 instantly.

    Thank you for reading!

I can’t imagine how many missed opportunities they’ve had with these ridiculous prices. You guys want to cut into the used game market? Stop pricing yourself out of it. You almost force people to go buy a used copy. Kane and Lynch makes around the 15th Games on Demand game I’m passing up on because of the pricing.

@OSUZOO08 – In Europe it costs 20 quid. Same as the other titles. Although it seems to cost around £28 in stores. So it’s cheaper in XBL.

Why is it a Games on Demand update comes out everyone coments to smack it down just because it’s expensive? It’s like ALL THE TIME. We get the idea by now or atleast 100 posts back.

MS overprices these games because guys like Wal Mart or Best Buy simply tell them to do so. They have this type of leverage because they can threaten to pull all their other products off the shelves. The reason a big box store like Wal Mart wouldn’t want to see Games on Demand competitively priced is because they know it will kill their video game business at the store. Eventually MS and others will finally have the model down, and will sell all their games via a digital store, but these big box stores are just trying to delay the inevitable as long as possible.

“Why is it a Games on Demand update comes out everyone coments to smack it down just because it’s expensive?” – Because people on here love moaning. If the games were cheaper, they’d moan that they’re digital copies that you can’t sell or lend to a friend. If they made it so you could sell them or lend them out, they’d moan that hard drives are too expensive and if they made those cheaper, they’d moan that the game they want isn’t available etc.

$30 for Shrek is a rip-off. I would have considered it for $20.

I don’t know if it was a Gamestop or what, but 5.99 is a randomly low price for PSU. For the US, you would be hard pressed to find a used copy online under 20. Or a new copy under 60. It’s getting into the range of Beautiful Katamari. At least with that game, there isn’t so much of an importance in the online portion/community.

Still, there’s a risk with used copies and some players aren’t very willing to take it. Even at a relatively low cost, I’ve heard several stories of players just buying them all when they see them. There are people willing to buy this game again on GoD just to avoid having to buy another copy in the future.

Canadian store STILL 10 dollars more then US, despite our dollars being at parity. Someone at MS Canada needs a kick in the face. Been like this for far too long.

Microsoft, can you please explain to me and millions of Xbox Live users where you get the audacity to charge $30 for Kane and Lynch and Shrek 3? These game’s are priced fairly but even a little over priced at $20, I can see $30 for Far Cry because it didn’t sell very well and it’s a huge game. I’ve been an Xbox Live user for almost seven years now and I think because of that I should get a discount on purchases and even all gold members in general. I can go to Gamestop and get Kane and Lynch used for less than $15 with my Edge Card discount and on Xbox Live it’s $30. I just don’t understand why Microsoft can’t learn what competitive pricing is, is it really that hard? Business ethnics 101 guys…

$29.99 ? For these ???? You guy’s really need to get your prices even with retailer’s. Every one is worth no more than $19.99, oh yeah I forgot it’s soo convenient.(rolls eyes. Not all of us live in the stick’s, I have 2 Gamestop’s and 1 Replay’s within 2 minutes of my house. $19.99 would sell way more because that’s all there worth.
