Glad to see that TOW is 800 points and not 1200, Will try the demo.

Rocket Knight is a full game (and a pretty good one, too), for which you had to pay 70$ back in the days of 16 bit, and now people complain about $15? I don’t get it.

Any idea when the market place will become available on the EAST COAST? It’s been unavailable since early A.M. (I thought the maintainence was only 60 minutes)

I’ll give them both a good go, if I fall in love with Rocket Knight I’ll just go for it regardless of price. Same for ToW.

These games are rubbish! I want three categories of games on XBLA: Casual (PopCap and iWin games), Triple A small games (Shadow Complex, Magic The Gathering, Puzzle Quest) or more clasic arcade originals and remakes. Recently, we have mainly seen obscure and expensive unknown games from unknown development studios. Meanwhile, we still don’t have nearly enough quality casual puzzle games, or quality independent games. I’d love to see Bookworm, Machinarium, World of Goo, Plants vs Zombies, Jewel Quest Heritage, Crade of Rome, etc. Not this junk. Take a good hard look at the PAX 10 this year, and put some of them on XBLA, and court PopCap and iWin to put more hit casual games on.

I don’t agree about those being rubbish.

Sparkster actually is a good game. Old school platformer + sidescrollers shooter. From pics seen while ago I spectedflash toon style graphics but those are 3D with some kind of artistoon (viewtifull joe, borderlands…) on them.
    .
Its cons are that for that price still don’t include unlockable avatar awards, nor desktop themes, gamerpics… oh, coop wouldn’t hurt either.
    .
Discerning gamers should pass comments like konami’s 90s mascot is somewhat obscure. Yeah, as much as gunstar heroes could be.

TOW actually is rubbish. Even at 800 points pricetag it feels overpriced. Those games are supposed to be inta-fun, but in my case I didn’t see anything interesting going on. Pay 3 times that price tag and get sega racing instead; you won’t be flushing your budget to the toilet as if you get TOW.

    Wow, ElektroDragon, you’re pretty stupid.

    1. Rocket Knight is a classic remake.
    2. Things on Wheels is a sequel to Mad Tracks.

    1. It’s not a “classic” if I’ve never heard of it, and I’ve been gaming since 1982.
    2. It may be a sequel, but I actually like Mad Tracks, and they’ve ruined it.
    3. Save the personal insults for your school, kid. You made some valid points which were completely destroyed by your use of insults. Grow up.

And to think that once upon a time I actually admired and respected the UK…. *sigh*

I repeat… Rocket Knight is not considered a “classic” by any stretch of the imagination.

But hey, keep the petty insults coming if they make you feel better.

You’re attracting insults by being an arrogant know-it-all type of guy. It’s okay if you’ve never heard of Rocket Knight before but by dragging out on it, saying its not a classic if you’ve never heard of it, is obviously bound to get a lot of not-so-nice responses. It’s pretty clear to me that you’re just a troll.

    I liked Rocket Knight.
I didn’t like Things on Wheels.
I don’t care about other peoples opinions.
I wish Carnage were here to put everything right.
    I am done.

Was considering purchasing ToW but the demo didn’t grip me. In fact no XBLA racing game has yet gripped me. The search continues.

LOL!!:) Besides your 1st reply, have you tried scrapmetal ? I found it very close to 90s rock n roll racing and once you get used to controls it’s fun IMHO. There’s also a indie game called little racers that is quite fun.
    .
Oh, and whoever wanting more carnage rules’ posts arround sure makes a minority here (and just by saying that shows that unlike he’s saying, he actually cares about others’ opinions). I’m ok with him tho, but he made derogatory comments directed towards other users intead of sticking to the actual topic and too often those are gratuitous and incendiary.

TOW looks and feels like an indie game, so 800 points seems a little steep. Rocket Knight however is an awesome classic remake. Well worth the 1200 points.

I did try scrapmetal a while back although admittedly that was before I started looking for a XBLA racer so I’ll take another look at it. I’ll also check out Little Racers on your recommendation too as indie games aren’t usually my first port of call.

Hopefully Joyride (which I hadn’t heard of until today but looks like something I’d enjoy) will arrive soon!

It would be grand if completing the story mode on Rocket Knight unlocked the original game within.:)
