  1. Listening to the show, thanks for the upload as usual Major. Good to see “e” back again. Also good to know you have an interview with the guy from Remedy. I’m f*cken love Alan Wake and its easily one of the best games to come out this year. Right up their with Mass Effect 2

  2. This could be the best show you guys have ever done.
I just want you guys to know what this is appointment listening for me, every single week (when available) I shut down whatever I’m doing and listen.
Glad to hear the whole crew together.

  3. Laura you got completely hosed from those Wikipedia jerks!
You are totally notable and to take down your page was 100% unjust!
I saw it was down but didn’t know the full story until now

  4. @Jaysonguy, she’s not really an important (Bill Gates, Steve Ballmer) or well-known (Major Nelson) cog at the Microsoft Corp. Outside of her being listed above, I don’t know who she is or what exactly her role is at MS. It’s not like anyone is going to be doing any research on her, outside of obessed fans who just want to talk to a girl, lol. We don’t need every Dick and Jane who works at a major company on Wikipedia.

  5. @mccalejk, she’s VERY important
Not only does she do her regular duties at Microsoft (where she’s an integral piece of the entire framework) but she also does a great deal of PR work for the Microsoft brand at events like PAX and E3 and various other events by showing up and being delightful and personable while being able to discuss every single part of the system.

She’s a gaming personality and she is one of the faces of the XBOX, she deserves to be recognized.

  6. @Jaysonguy
Dude, give it up, your never going to meet her and if you did she wouldn’t date you so just stop embarrassing yourself now.

p.s. Laura watch out, you might have a stalker on your hands, LOL.

  7. @Vira
    1. Already have at PAX that’s how I know what kind of PR she does for the brand
    2. I’m already taken, sorry ladies!
    3. You really need to work on your material

So besides not being correct anywhere your post was spot on, I mean you spelled it correctly and that’s something right?

  8. Ugh, I hate to be one of “those guys asking about an xbla release” but here goes…

Japan has had Doom 2 since 4/17. What’s up with that? Also: Don’t release it during E3 because we’ve already played that game before.

  9. Great show, Major Nelson & Co!
Listened to the part about Alan Wake. Nice to hear that Remedy puts so much work and love into their games. I’ve finished Alan Wake, and it shows how much they’ve worked on it. Great game, one of the best singleplayer experiences this generation. Looking forward to The Signal DLC for July 27th.

  10. A couple of things:

    1. Dammit, e! Talk into the mic! Major, you really need to buy e a headset mic so people can hear him.
    2. The ebook library management software e referred to in the gadgets section is available at That link is missing from the show notes. I’ve been using it for several months to manage ebooks for Stanza on iPhone and just love it.
2a. Calibre is pronounced “cal-iber”, not “ca-lee-bray” (your mispronunciation reminded me so much of The Office mispronunciation of “Sabre” this season). third paragraph.
2b. e, you need to jailbreak your iPad and install the FullForce extension ( It allows you to run iPhone apps at full iPad resolution rather than pixel-doubled. It doesn’t work with everything but it *does* work (almost) perfectly with Lexcycle’s Stanza ereader, which is arguably the best iPhone reader. Unfortunately Lexcycle (now owned by Amazon) has already said that they will never release an iPad version of Stanza (don’t want it to compete with Kindle), so this is the only way to properly use the best iDevice ereader out there.
    3. Speak into the mic, dammit! Everybody else is always clearly audible except for e.
