“FOUR RED BUTTONS AND TWO JOYSTICKS”

Is that something like Beck’s Two Turntables and a Microphone?:)

I have played EJ on my phone. I’ll wasn’t going to buy it at first until I saw that there was 4 player co-op (i think) and 3 new levels.

Wow, NGBC, was that expected this week? I don’t remember hearing anything about it.

the best part about this week’s xbox live arcade games is that they are both 800 points and not, what seems to be the new standard, 1200 points!

The NeoGeo game should have been 400 points.

Wow. Remember when the XBLA arcade games couldn’t be over 50MB?

Just played the trials for both, and for some reason, I was not happy with Earthworm Jim HD. I mean, you slap HD on something, and you think it should look great, right? Well, EJ HD just comes off as the same but widescreen. It’s not really prettier. It’s about the same (Even played an emulated version right before, just to compare). Also, the controls kind of suck. I was expecting at least the simple use of the right stick for aiming, but nope. They just stuck to the old crappy way of doing it. Oh, well.

As for Battle Coliseum, it’s pretty awesome! I agree with ElektroDragon, though. It doesn’t feel as if it justifies a full 800MSP, like Doom 2, as both are pretty much exactly what they were way back when.

Guess I’m stuck with my 2 Deal of the Week games! w00t!

Where the hell did Neogeo Battle Colliseum come from? Seriously you should blog about new arrivals more often such as Defense Grid’s Second Map Pack and the Free BFBC2 update. It’s getting rather annoying now.

I also dont see any big improvements except the HD in the titles name. Well. Its 800, thats okay at least. But Ill pass. Clothes for my Avatar dont make me buy a game (for developers information).

NGBC is fantastic. It has NEW stages that where never in the Arcade or PS2 version, redone character graphics in game (A combination of redrawn details and smoothed sprites), redrawn victory and character select artwork, customizable colors for characters can be played online, the best of the PS2 and Arcade versions features, an arranged soundtrack, and best of all, the best netcode SNKP has ever released on XBLA.

It feels like a steal at 800 pts, even the domestic PS2 release (with all that new stuff up there missing) was a good deal at $20 dollars.

And as far as the game poping up as a suprise: It was listed on SNKPlaymore’s US and JP websites as having a release today, at 800pts, some time last week. Not ideal (we all would have liked to see it mentioned here), but just know there was some warning!

So if 4 player co-op and 3 new level is not a big improvement then I don’t know what is.

“Once dominant NeoGeo platform”? In arcades I guess.

The lack of publicity for SNK fighters is why we don’t have KoF2002UM yet.

I meant in the sense of we were told three times Earthworm Jim was coming today and there was abseloutely no mention of Neogeo. I’m not liking this.

I really hate not having a decent fighter pad to play these classic 2D fighters worth playing that are coming up as surprise like this, as I read SFIV fighter pad is a gamble for diagonals and I already messed up left stick on few of my original 360 controllers playing SSFII HD remix.. such a shame😦

I played EJ a lot back in the days, but i’m gonna wait when it’s maybe a deal of the week. I’m saving my points for Trails HD next week:)

    Groovy!
    .
Whoever not liking EJ HD didn’t enjoy the original back at it’s time, for sure.
    .
Multiplayer both online and local (online code ain’t no joke dudes), extra levels, bonus pictures for your gamercard and stuff for your avatar. Isn’t it enough? Control couldn’t have been any better and those graphics are how it was meant to be: pure cartoons in action. Seriously, there is no way they could have improved it much than how it’s now so if you reader don’t like, it’s just that you don’t like the game not that particular version.
    .
I beated this game back when I had the cartridge (no emulation stuff) and can tell it’s still fresh for newcomers and true to the original for old farts like me. Well worth 800 points. Ren & Stimpy fans will be pleased:)
    .
I didn’t like the neo geo one that much tho, but still both are actually a deal coming out at this price, so waiting for it being half price was nonsensical for me.
    .
Concerning to trials, are there any official word on it? it was already 33% off (800 points) few weeks ago so are you serious about this being 50% off now ? Already heard it was this week till they officially announced the deals we got now so don’t buy those breaking news till I see it happening. Anyways, already got Trials.

I feel the same😦 can’t believe having such amount of arcades microsoft didn’t release a DECENT pad yet. You know, for ristar, bionic comando, fighting games and every title where diagonals matter.
