Xbox LIVE on Windows Phone 7
Earlier this week at Gamecom in Germany we made a lot of Windows Phone 7 gaming announcements that are pretty interesting for gamers, and especially Xbox LIVE members. Didn’t get a chance to make it to the show but still want to see some cool stuff?  Check out Xbox.com/phone for more information of how we’re going to connect Xbox LIVE to the Window Phone 7 experience. Then drop by the hour-long live video chat I’ll be hosting Thursday where you can ask me questions about our recent Windows Phone announcements, plus I’ll show you a few games.

Here are the details:

So, uh…how is this going to work? Do we need iPhone 4s, will this work with a Webcam/PC, or what?

I’m assuming it will be announced eventually. Please put Xbox Live on the Zune HD. I already have an iPhone 4 and have no interest in switching to WP7. I’d pick up a 16 GB Zune HD in a second if it had Xbox Live.

The best thing about a Nokia 6500 is that it dosen’t have Crap Apps over complicating it, and a longer battery life.

The new Windows phone looks pretty good, but I’m an Android man now. Already invested in a few fantastic apps.

Phone does look cool. But I’ve had iPhone since they launched and I’m not planning on switching but I would love a great Xbox Live app made by the awesome people at Microsoft.

I’m only interested in phones that let me phone and text but I may get one of these if the price is right. I care not for iPhones and apps and whatnot but adding in Xbox Live functions to phoning and texting is alright for me.

Still think it’s daft restricting it to your own phones though.

Still planning the Twitter integration (like Facebook’s) as originally announced?
Still planning on having the Netflix app for streaming instant movies??
Thanks, can’t wait for my WP7!

Not a big Windows Phone fan but I can say WP7 has tickled my interest.
Never been a mobile or hand-held gamer either but being able to access LIVE captures me.

There really is only one question that I need answering. With me being virtually tethered to the iTunes store with all the purchases I have made over the past few years, is this new W7 phone good enough for me to suck it up and leave Steve Jobs overpriced, but still excellent, phone? Having Xbox Live on your phone is such an awesome concept, but the iPhone 4 has enchanted me. It is going to take something FANTASTIC to break my Apple addiction. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the W7 is it.

Looking forward to it. Using WM6.5 at the moment but the XBL integration on this thing has brushed away most of my doubts. Makes me glad I didn’t jump ship to Android or… god forbid, Apple.

Hey, why Microsoft is not giving to Zune HD the support it deserves?, That Xbox Live app is perfect for it.

Hey guys asking for this on iPhone and Android, getting access to the Xbox Live service we all love is one of they key features for Windows Phone 7. So it will NOT be coming to those platforms. It’d be like asking Apple to sync the iTunes store with Android. Don’t judge WP7 by Windows Mobile. Microsoft recognized WinMo outlived its usefulness and this is a new OS written from the ground up. (Which is why WinMo apps won’t work on WP7.) I’ve been following the development and it looks really promising. Paul Thurrott has an excellent website covering it at http://windowsphonesecrets.com/

This is rubbish. The voice and video is out of synch, and it just played the same part twice.

They really need an option to use a controller, 360 controller via a dongle attachment, or something. No one wants to control Master Chief while rubbing the screen. Touch Game sucks! Granted I will be purchasing the phone, but number of games I buy is related to the control I have.
