After playing both demos (yes they are different) several times… I started to get a real good feel of the controls- it was fun… but I still will not get this game until it is under $20… based on the demos and some practice I believe the game is better than a lot of the reviews make the game out to be- this would have been a great game to include with Kinect (along with Kinect Adveture)…

When it was announced last year it sounded pretty cool: Like a console version of Trackmania where you could race with your own avatars. For free even.

Now nothing of those promises is left. If it was just the pricetag I wouldn’t have cared that much (developers need to get paid too), but now it’s also completely impossible for me to play it anyway because they decided to make kinect OBLIGATORY for this game? Hah…

OK, enough. I’m sick of the people telling people this was never suppose to be free and that no business is in the business to satisfy cheapwads, etc…. At E3 a couple years ago this was announced to be a free XBLA game and when asked why after they showed it off they said their plan was to make money through micro transactions over Xbox live. So, people have a reason to be upset that it is now a $50 game and you need Kinect to play it. I don’t think this game would have got the bad reviews it has if it was a $10 or $15 game on xbla, and it definitely wouldn’t have gotten the bad reviews if it was free like originally announced.

For those thinking of passing on Kinect, you’ve gotta at least try Dance Central. Really really fun, but it’s pretty much a party game. Best played with multiple folks. They really nailed how to easily navigate menus with Dance Central – I predict all games will copy their method in due time. Microsoft should too. Very easy hand swipes up or down, to the right or left. The other standout is the voice control. Using the voice option on ESPN is pretty amazing. Once this voice control gets fully implemented in all facets of the dashboard Kinect will be a very big win. MS needs to get another Kinect related dashboard update out there ASAP.

I’m saying the game was never free because it’s not. Just because they announce this game as free a couple years ago doesn’t mean plans don’t change. Game plans change all the time from release dates to cancellations right down to actually changing the entire game. It’s not FREE move on.

Venom, I understand plans change. I just said as I was sick of people saying this was Never announced as a free game. It was and now its $50 and you need a $150 device to play it. I have nothing to move on from, I’ll get Kinect for Christmas and I’ll love it, I just wont get this game.

Loved the Demo for Joy Ride. Its a buy for me as soon as it drops in price. Kinect overall is really awesome, although it lacks the voice commands here in sweden (afaik) and the kinect hub functionality MUST be improved (i.e it should be possible to steer my viewing of pictures, movies and listening to music stored on my computer with the kinecthub).
