What can you say but, wow. Think back ten years and it looked like insanity when Microsoft entered the videogaming market.

Think back 4 years and it looked like nothing could stop the Wii. And now?

All I can say is that I am glad that I am an Xboxer. My favourite console by far and I am glad that the masses agree. Totally deserves its success and I hope that all involved get a pat on the back. And a bonus.

Its great to see that over 1 million were sold! I think Kinect really helped make that possible.

Most likely you just suck at Call of Duty.

Come on Call of Duty Black Ops on 360 as #1, who didn’t see that coming just shows how many prefer xbox live over playstation network.

@Venom Madness Typical Call of Duty fanboy reply. Haha. I am bad at it. Know why? I don’t spend hours on it like sad kids like you.

Wow at the numbers. Didn’t expect that. It’s been a good year all around for Xbox 360. Sure, both Sony and Nintendo have had a better year in terms of exclusive retail games. But the Xbox Live distributed content is where Xbox 360 really shines. Been a tremendous year for both XBLA and XBLIG.

What were the top 10 titles sold that weren’t Xbox? All Wii games still?

    WOOT GO 360!!! haha🙂.

And xTye stop being a troll. I am not a fan of the game either. But just stating that BO sucks to start a potential fanboy argument is beyond stupid…..

We always hear about the 360’s triumphs in America and it’s failings in Japan, but I’m really interested in Europe, how is it doing there?

From some who has played COD:BO… it does suck, can’t wait for BF2 Vet.

    – The Nintendo DS is #1 with 1.5 million units sold… not the 360
    – Majors growth comment seems about right
    – The Top Ten list doesn’t show Halo:Reach at all… and the only “Xbox Exclusive” I see there is Fable III?
    – Yes Call of Duty: Black Ops is #1… but it’s not “for 360” but for EVERY console AND including the PC

Nice twisting of the numbers Major *lol*

@DarkTear81 – The NPD Top Ten list released publically is a combined SKU report (they only changed it recently). The top ten list Major is refering to is the INDIVIDUAL SKU report only available to paying subscribers (which includes MS).
Regarding COD, Major is refering to the individual SKU again – it sold best on 360 and was at the number 1 position for console games based on individual SKU.
Finally, the 360 was the top HOME CONSOLE – handhelds are a different category.

Congratz to Microsoft, Xbox and to its loyal fans. 1.37 million for a 5 year old console is mighty impressive. I’m a proud Xbox owner and will continue to be one. I hope you guys have another stellar year in 2011. Bring them exclusives other than Halo, Gears and Fable Microsoft. I know you guys got them

Microsoft has done what they set out to do, they didn’t want to be the best console they wanted to have the most exclusives and they do, every kinect game that comes out now is and exclusive even if it is a multiplatform game it still be different for kinect because of the control system

Good to see that the old dog still has plenty of life in it yet! I’ve been a devotee for around 4 years and still use it daily. Love the XBLA stuff, love the content and love the community. Just upgraded to the 250 ‘slim’ and it’s a thing of beauty!

Such good news! Thanks for sharing Major! Haven’t tried Kinect yet, but all other content is so great that I’m completely happy with it.

Black ops is multi-platform. It selling well on one console dosen’t mean it’s a triumph for Micropants. AC:Bros also follows this.
