The trial was quite fun, with some pretty good action and some really detailed graphics. Music is quite boring, though. I’ll wait for a review, hoping it’s not another case of “nice game, shame about repetitive gameplay”.

You need to play more of the game. The music really gets good.

Getting sick of the same basic game being copied by every developer just with different visuals/themes and one or two extra additions.

I bought 11 titles in 2010, I’ve bought two so far this year.

        Two? Really?

Crysis 2? Bulletstorm? Mortal Kombat? Portal 2? Need for Speed: HP?

That is just off the top of my head in a very short space of time…

I have bought many games this year, and the only one I regret is Brink (but as of yet it hasn’t arrived, so I am just letting reviews cloud my judgement).

If you have only bought 2, what are you searching for in a game? You must have missed out on many great games.

Maybe he was referring to XBLA titles?

You see it as quality titles, I see it as five weeks of overpriced pap. Yeah there’s been some solid gold titles in XBLA promotions but otherwise it becomes a one-game-a-week dealie that restricts other titles from coming out until later.

Gimme Guardian Heroes and Radiant Silvergun.

Looks neat, but it’s too pricey. Only games I’m buying this year are either on sale or used. Unless they’re named Mass Effect 3, Skyrim or Gears 3.

1200 points being the XBLA default really sucks.

Agreed. Lately there has been a lot of 800 point games, I was hoping that was slowly becoming the default again. This game looks like a lot of fun and got good reviews, but I doubt it sells well at the 1200 price point.

“1200 points being the XBLA default really sucks.”

There are WAY more games on Live at 800 points than 1,200.

Of the last 50 games released on Live, including the ones from this week: –

      1,200 MSP = 11
      800 MSP = 36
      400 MSP = 1
      Free = 2

Interesting. I guess those 11 are mostly the ones I’m interested in. Also, 1200 point map packs for CoD, etc. Blah!

By the way, this problem isn’t exclusive to Xbox. Gaming is becoming too expensive in general.

I dunno. I’m finding that I’m buying more XBLA games and fewer disc-based games these days, so I’m spending a little less.

Activision charging 1,200 for a map pack is too much though, I agree. At least Black Ops has the zombie maps which must take a fair bit of work to make. The next COD won’t have that and will probably still cost 1,200.

Don’t buy that $60 game and you can get 3 of the 1200 pt games instead. And when did you pay full $60 for a year of live? (which you also don’t need to buy and play games as long as you don’t play online)
