Seriously this is beyond stupid, and why is it just 30%? Make it 50% at least.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, worst deal ever. Who is making these decisions? I am really asking because I want to know. Is their job to make customers disgusted and go wtf is this? How many times have people wanted to change their gamertag only to see that the name is already in use so their stuck with what they picked to begin with? But now for a discount you can go through this for only $7.50, ridiculous; plus how many really want to change their Gamertags? Are many picking their first gamertag and going hmm, I want to give myself an awful name that will make people make fun of me or go wtf? I’m guessing not and this deal just seems like a slap in gold members face. What’s next week deal? 30% off dlc for games that came out 4-5 years ago?

change your gamertag for 30% off?! really thats the deal of the week? and not even 50 but 30? fire the mother$##%%# that makes these deals. And why are we forced to pay for this shit? i mean i understand morons changing their gamertag too often, but how about one free name change? is that too much?

I tried but I can’t change my gamertag. I wanted to get rid of the spaces in my gamertag so that it matches my username on other services like PSN (which does not allow spaces). However when I enter the new edited gamertag without spaces I’m told the new gamertag is already in use… (It isn’t)

It seems the LIVE service ignores spaces and consider my new gamertag to be identical to the old one, and won’t let me change or edit it.

Do I have to pay double and first change my gamertag to some random name, then back to my “old” (now edited) gamertag, or does anyone know some other way of removing the spaces from my gamertag ?

lol. you never understood my intentions.I was just bitching about how ungrateful ppl are for the deal of the week. Its not the point they are crying, its the point of them complaining about discounts they don’t have to buy and we don’t have to get. so calling me ironic for crying is correct, i never disagreed with that, it wasn’t my point. get it now?

Actually, you did for a bit, and that’s what happened. Someone remarked that it was ironic that you were “crying” in your own post, and you debated that briefly. That’s the main reason you got the replies you got from others–though I disagreed with the name-calling (EG: Bayat-Ali’s post).

We all “got” your post, don’t assume otherwise. In all honesty, questioning the CHOICE of an administration process as a “deal of the week” is valid, as the rest of commenters have expressed.

McDonalds has been giving away free toys with Happy Meals for 30 years. If one day, they put a “30% off parking” token in there, it would be an incongruous choice worthy of criticism–it doesn’t “fit”–and that’s not the same thing as being “ungrateful.” I think that point got lost in the shuffle.
