Got the demo this morning, seemed like a lot of fun.  My friend seems to be underwhelmed by everything except the art style though.  So not sure on this one yet…

Nice game but it I.T. Shadow Planet took too long to see the light, no pun intended. Microbot came first and if you dig the visuals you can go undergarden or even limbo, despite both aren’t sharing gameplay at all.

Last but not least, 1200 msp ? in those times, people has to be nuts to ask for those price tags, speacially when we all were teached to wait 3 months till tis might be DOTW’ed

People has insanely twisted amounts of backlog to play and there’s cheaper options for this kind of gameplay so waiting makes a lot of sense.

Even being a fan of Gagné, I’ll wait till DOTW (if not, feels like GOLD membership’s benefits are wasted) or till I reduce the things I have still to unwrap, play and finish, whatever comes first.

BTW, masterpiece IMHO. You even get to see who’s inside the UFO, such attention for detail could only come from a mastermind:)

      I love this comment. “It’s a masterpiece!”

      “Oh, it’s 1200 points. No!”

If it’s a masterpiece it’s worth the price. Retail titles are $60, and I’d hate to say it, most of those are not masterpieces. Why does it change here?

The point is that eventually all these games go Deal of the Week. I don’t think it’s about the game not being worth it, but about that particular price tag turning into the default one for pretty much all Arcade games – and right when the global economy is pretty much going downhill and you’re just a few weeks away from a 50% off deal. I’m with Z4M0 – no matter how much I liked Trenched, I’ll wait until DOTW or a permanent reduction to 800 points.

if the game is so good, why are you trying to rip off the people who made it by not paying full price? that’s why there’s so many crappy games out there, the video game companies have to make money in order to keep throwing money at newer and better games. they don’t do this for free. costs of everything is going up, my friend. video games are not immune to this. and besides, its still just a fourth the price of a full retail game. or do you not buy any of those until they drop to $10 either?

Well, yes, I must say. I got GTA4 and Rock band 3 for 3,50 € each ,both brand new.(to name few, but I’m getting like 2 brand new -no second hand- every week).  And Rock band was close to release date, so what’s the point of paying full price ? Don’t be so naive Videogame companies see the money when RETAILERS get their games to sell them to you, not when you buy those from the retailer.

No to mean any offence to anyone but buying brand new games, wrapped and in my own (european) country, not importing at low prices don’t mean to ripp off anyone. If this was so, prices wouldn’t go down legally as they do.

If I was to say, sompanies rip off customers more than other thing, like releasing unfinished games (fable 2, space marine) and adding co-cop later in DLC, etc. but hey, let’s praise companies instead of we customers defend each other… that’s the way to go.

I think the guy down here got the point. It costs 1200 msp NOW. It’s a masterpiece (may be it to some) NOW. But what’s with that ? It will continue to be as good in three months as this is now, christ this is a game not yogurt !

Plus we are supposed to get DOTW eventually, as reward for being GOLD subscribers, why not taking advantadge of it ? What is the point (pros) about getting it today instead of doing few weeks later ?

Furthermore, If pople read my personal opinion, and some may be in the same position, I have like 10+ unopened games and loads of unfinished games. Seriously, It’s not whinning about the price, it’s that I’ll buy it later (and will most likely do cheaper that others did) and i’ll be getting the same goodness, for less.

It’s hard times, and most of us have to pay for having a home, food, clothes and hell… videogaming isn’t my only hobby (and still I have 100+ retail games and about the same arcades with few indies arround). That’s why I can’t see what’s so hot about  buying it NOW, adding it to my queue of “must finish” games just to start playing it in three months and see how others are getting it cheaper.

        yadda, yadda..

This was the one game I thought I had no interest in and of the three Summer of Arcade games released it is the only one I really liked.

You know, there is more to a game than its length…

Even considering that, a 10 hour retail game is $60, a downloadable Arcade game is four-five for $15. That’s not a fair price even if you’re ONLY basing the decision on time (which is naivety at its worst)?

ha! i love how people freak out about the length of games. $15?? are you kidding me??? you’d spend that to go watch a 90-minute movie. and this lasts 3 times as long AND you can replay it as much as you want without having to pay for it again. get real, bro.

I am not freaking out. I am usually the last to complain about $15 titles. I have bought several and thought they were worth it. I was just saying it was short. And I only go to movies at times where it is just $5 lol.

people, PLEASE quit whining about the price of it! IT’S ONLY $15!!!!! that’s a quarter the price of a full retail game, and based on the trash that gets put out nowadays, i’d gladly pay $15 for a short but awesome experience rather than $60 for a longer but much more mediocre one. the 1200ms price point is a way for video game companies (btw arcade games are often made by smaller studios with a much smaller budget than the big game companies like EA, Activision, Ubisoft, etc.) to make back the money they spent making the game. and costs of everything are rising – including how much it costs to make a video game. the argument against paying $5 more is a ludicrous one – especially coming from the hypocrites who spend 4x the 1200 ms price on retail games regularly released by the big companies that don’t need all our money. show some support for the little guys, buy a great game at a quarter the price tag!

here’s an easy way to look at it: would you rather have the retail game Duke Nukem Forever (a $60 crappy retail game), or would you rather have ITSP, From Dust, Bastion, and Trenched (all $15 each for a total of $60, and EASILY better than DNF, just on their own)? Don’t be an idiot. The math speaks for itself.

Your argument sucks and your math is flawed. 1) Comparing horrible (and short) retail games to decent arcade titles doesn’t hold water. 2) Retail games can be re-sold, so even if someone did buy a turd like DNF, they can recoup most of their money if they sold it soon after buying it.

I don’t have a problem with 1200 point arcade titles… when they’re worth it. Games like Castle Crashers, Trials HD, Shadow Complex are good examples. None of the games for the Summer of Arcade 2011 are worth 1200.

you missed my whole point. reselling games gives NO money to the companies that make them. buying an arcade game does. and gives it to the companies who DESERVE our money cause they aren’t corporate, money-slobbering whores. and on top of it, its nowhere near as much money you’re giving to the good guys, so its a double win.

and yes, using the example of a horrible full price retail game that people spent money on and then whined about spending only 25% of that on a MUCH BETTER arcade game does hold water. i’m not comparing the games, i’m comparing the mindset of the purchaser.

:)) If jimbob88 missed your whole point then you also did on others’ comments since there isn’t so much price whinning as you say.

How can anyone dare to say a guy having 100+ arcades isn’t supporting small devs ? and some of those where 1st day purchases. Hell, even if anyone is just getting DOTW arcades he is still supporting the deal, so I have to say that argument is weak.

I don’t mind getting arcades and even indie games (how many of you are you doing?) and heavy supporting talented people but if I have 3 fresh pies at my table at the moment, why should I get another one right now? by the time I’ll be ready to eat it it won’t be that fresh.

If you where guessing it was about backlog and prices going down eventually.

It’s a great game, but it’s a shame they only let you map the items to the face buttons, the d-pad is unused in the game, and you have 8 items with only 4 you can quickly access at any time.
