You only get the FIOS channels if you ALREADY SUBSCRIBE to FIOS.

In other words, you have to PAY FOR CABLE TV to be able to watch FIOS on your Xbox.   Wouldn’t you rather just watch those channels on your TV, through your cable box?  Using the 360 offers ZERO benefit for watching FiOs.

Is this is Microsoft’s plan for the “future of TV” I think I will be keeping my Direct TV dish a while longer…more than HALF of the stuff on that list for the US requires a separate PAY subscription or PPV (HBO Go, Epix, Vudu, Cinema Now, Netflix, Hulu Plus) and this is on top of a GOLD membership. And..not looking to spark and argument, but facts are facts..the majority of these apps are ALREADY available on the PS3 with a standard, no fee account.

How is this TV exactly? TV..at a minimum, is FREE. The good stuff in this update actually requires a cable provider subscription. (Fios TV, Xfinitiy, HBO Go)

Anything MS puts out that is worth anything requires you to PAY PAY PAY.

These offerings are useless.  MS needs to offer some QUALITY UPDATES that don’t just wring more and more money out of the users.

We can do EVERYTHING that the Xbox does on different tools (TV, laptop, etc) except play games.

The 360 is not doing that can’t be done better elsewhere.

I hope you know…. if you don’t already subscribe to HBO, you don’t get HBO GO.

Same as with almost every other channel in this “awesome” update.

If you already pay for these channels, you can already watch them. Having them on the 360 really offers nothing.

Yes, I already subscribe to HBO through Comcast and I’m looking forward to having their complete catalog if original content “on demand” straight to my HDTV.

Wait a minute: So not only is Comcast’s Xfinity NOT coming this holiday season, but when it does come, it’s not even Live TV: Just On Demand? That’s extremely disappointing for me. Guess all you Verizon FiOS customers are in luck this month and all the rest of us are left behind…

ah well, I guess it’s good that we’ll be getting YouTube…

Rumors say that the system is ready, awaiting only the approval of Microsoft.
