      1. I don’t think redeemed codes count as sales but I’m really just making that theory up so there’s a perfectly valid chance that I’m wrong about that.

      1. I’m going to assume you’re joking but if you’re not, that just came out yesterday & this is sales for last week so that can’t be a factor.

    1. Gamasutra says it added about 27000 new players to its leaderboard for the month of November and has more than 2.47 million players on it’s leaderboard.

Apparently, the Castle Crashers leaderboard takes into account every player’s score on the leaderboard in Multiplayer, so if 4 people were playing locally the leaderboard total would increase by 4, even though the game actually only got 1 sale.  So 2.47 million sales would be an inflated number, but I’d guess CC is over 2 million in sales on XBLA alone.

I’ll post the link to my reference in a reply to this, but it will get caught in moderation limbo for a while before it ever gets through.

      1. It wasn’t a dig I just found it funny that a three year old game was constantly number 1ing the list! It’s nice to see something new on it i.e. dethroning GTA!

Also I don’t care how sad this is but your reply has made my Christmas! Thank you! 🙂

      2. When you consider the fact that it only counts games that use Games for Windows Live and you look at what titles use GFWL, it’s not really hard to believe that GTAIV was at the top for so long.

      3. True but a lot of those games on the list are newer and I’m not saying newer = better but new games tend to do well in the first few weeks and it’s very rarely that people would go back to playing the same game even after 3 years!

Fair play to the people who still find it fun though!

      1. Or maybe he’s aware of the horrendous online experience Gears offers to anyone who hasn’t been playing since release. Gears squarely deserves it’s fate on this list until they improve that.

      2. true i hate being rap*@$ by shotgun who&es, its so annoying they spring up to you just to blow ur head off, and also whats up with the lancer damage it takes a whole clip WITH active reload to kill at medium range but you’d never get that kill because they would barrel roll away right before they die. im still gonna try to play it but ill always go back to BF3 and MW3

    1. Gears has no skill matching and is overrun by full teams taking apart randoms. Why is it sad that most players don’t want to go 2-9 every game? Gears sadly deserves 8th place.

    2. Keep it to yourself if you don’t want FPS shooters, because these games have a massive following compared to any RPG game. You are sad but a lot more people are happy.

      1. Why does it bother you so much if someone is glad to see a different game come up in the ranks amongst the usual sea of 360 shooters? It just proves that 360 gamers are hungry for something different.

  1. Pretty impressive that Saints Row the Third has barely been on sale for a month, and it’s already below GTAIV – a game that’s been out for 3 and a half years now.

  2. When are we going to have some better quality kinect games? Seems like most of these people need to get off the couch every now and then. Complainers. Radical fanatics.

  3. Taking an exception like yourself and stretching it into the rule is a joke. I’ve seen high levels correspond to high skill 95% of the time, especially in Gears, and especially when the guy is a level 100. Combine them on teams, on a difficult-to-master game, and you have your reason for why Gears is in 8th place.

Xbox Live used to advertise True Skill matching. It was part of the reason we paid money for the Xbox Live service. Microsoft advertised True Skill because players don’t like being mismatched. Now, games lack skill matching, which leaves only the games with the easiest learning curves, like Call of Duty, to thrive on Xbox, while possibly more interesting games, like Gears, are deserted.

Level makes no difference … you are hilarious. So you’re saying players get worse, the longer they play, and that more time into a game doesn’t equate more skill. Even you are probably better than that.

      1. You can be a Gears vet and not play 5 hours a day, and not want to get matched up with those teams.

Seriously sorry for you if you logged in just to post that.
