Changes for Inside Xbox (U.S.) *Updated*

In the last 10 years, Xbox LIVE has transformed in so many amazing ways, and as a community we’ve experienced so much together. I’ve personally witnessed many changes that have helped Xbox LIVE improve and together with our members we’ve created a community we all value and rely on.

At Xbox, we are focused on making entertainment and gaming more amazing, and we must continue to invest our resources and talents wisely. Consequently, we’ve decided to discontinue production of Inside Xbox in the United States, and as a result this content will also no longer be available in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Xbox LIVE in EMEA is currently looking at its operating model for Inside Xbox. This could potentially result in some changes, but we have no news here to share yet. Xbox LIVE in Mexico and Japan will continue to produce first-party content for its members via other media outside of the Inside Xbox brand.

We want to express our sincere appreciation to all of our viewers and fans of Inside Xbox, and remain committed to providing our members with access to high-quality news and information via the console, social media channels and Xbox.com. We will be leveraging third-party news and video content available through a variety of existing and future partners, and supplementing this content with select first-party offerings. However, day-to-day news content and weekly programming currently offered though Inside Xbox will cease production in the United States. This includes shows like Major’s Minute, Featured Videos and Insider Moves packaged under the Inside Xbox brand.

This decision was not made lightly. Our teams working on Inside Xbox have done a great job connecting with our members and delivering high-quality, informative game news and tips. We thank them all for their contributions to the Xbox LIVE community and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.

Update: I posted this in the comments, but a few folks have missed it: I will continue to do the work I have always done, that part will not change. The weekly videos that I used to do with Inside Xbox will unfortunately not continue. I hope that clears things up.

Update on Europe:

Following the news last week that that Inside Xbox in the US was to cease production, the team in Europe has been investigating what makes most sense for them and the Xbox LIVE community as they continue to strive to deliver the latest gaming and entertainment news for users across the region.

As such, they have decided to move away from the current first-party produced content model and transition to a third-party content model, which will provide timely and locally-relevant content to users across more of the EMEA markets. Whilst this means that the Inside Xbox brand will effectively be retired in Europe, the focus remains on continuing to provide the Xbox LIVE community with the latest and best in games and entertainment news and information.

    I think this is an absolute outrage. Xbox live had the BEST unique ways of communicating with their fans and now out of the blue they say no. Plus they still want $60 plus a year for gold and I have seen things progressively get worse on Xbox live such as no longer being able to watch Netflix in one party. I think not only as a gold member my self but as a shareholder for Microsoft I feel that we are being let down now. Andy and Dan had a passion for SentUMessage that can not be topped. I am starting to wonder where my money is going for the useless features in the dashboard that I don’t use since I do not have Kinect. I personally fell that getting rid of Inside Xbox is also outrageous. I saw it as a valuable tool and information to what was happening. Now there is NO difference between gold and non gold memberships. So once mine expires I am done unless WE GET OUR FEATURES BACK AND OUR GREAT SERVICE THAT WE DESERVE!!!

    This is horrible, i have signed a petition and will be working to make Microsoft regret this hasty decision like it did with zune party viewing. I am really hoping that the fans of insider moves and nexus as well as SUAM bring about a backlash so fierce that even the mass effect 3 backlash looks small. going behind the backs of your customers is exactly the wrong way to things in a society with movements like occupy wall-street. major nelson should have at least presented the issues to us before they made their horrible uneducated decision to stop inside xbox, why? maybe because we would have had a chance to show our support rather than have to deal with this domino effect of closers by Microsoft. you have one of the largest companies in the world whos founder is a devout charity giver and your only rival is a failing sony and you bring us this old world excuse. I am deeply saddened by this lack of consumer respect. sorry about the spelling and grammar errors i have a job to goto, yeah minus one paying customer.

    microsoft i will never trust you again. never thought id say this but i will be moving to ps 4 next generation microsoft relied on a hard core of gamers till they built up their market share and are now going back to corporation town and shitting all over the core xbox 360 fanbase!!!!!!
