All those Games on Demand are the sorts you would find a clearance bin… AFTER it was picked through.

I personally plan on getting at least 4 of these… Most of you people are complaining and saying these are on amazon or at gamestop for this price or less… Really.. cause I checked and the 4 I plan to get are $12.99 or more.. and sure amazon used is cheap… then add on the $3.99 shipping each? OH YEAH… definitely saving money there… /end sarcasm… I’ll pay $20 for a quick 4000 gamerscore…

And that ladies and gentlemen is the problem. Don’t get me wrong I love a bit of achievement hunting myself, but a bad game at a good price is still a bad game. Even if it does pad that number next to your gamertag a little bit.

Two of those games (Conan and GRAW) are actually fun… more so GRAW of course. However, I have both… and the remaining titles are really terrible

Did the community ask for those deals or are you just dumping them on us like a steaming pile?

I think in Microsoft’s eyes the community _IS_ the steaming pile…

Microsoft should do this more often but with more popular games. They should at least do newer games than these; they are all atleast 5-6 years old. Microsoft should start doing bundles such as Games On Demand including Add-ons; for a good price of course. Or at least give a free Game on Demand per month. Other than that Microsoft start making more deals like this every week! Customers will buy!

Honestly, at $60 a year Xbox Live could afford to offer better deals and free games like Playstation Plus. I have both consoles and have yet to get PS+ but I’m about to. If next gen XBL remains the same, I think I’ll have to switch favorites. It’s almost comical seeing these “deals”. Games on Demand is still grossly overpriced. Shouldn’t digital media be cheaper than retail in all cases?

Not to mention Microsoft’s initiative to become a multimedia app box for television and film while still forcing people to buy a subscription to use said apps–some with their own subscription. It makes no sense. Wake up, guys. Please?

Microsoft may have better online downloadable content and games, and their store user interface is definitely 100x better than the crappy PSN store one, but I’m enjoying PSN Plus a lot better. Sony knows how to treat it’s customers well with their subscription and the deals are awesome with a lot of free downloads of good paid games and good discounts on good downloadable games. On the XBL side, I’m usually pretty disappointed at the deals XBL Gold has compared to what I get with PSN+. Not sure why I pay for XBL anymore, and I wouldn’t be doing so if the online gaming was free like it is on the PS3…well I guess it’s better that I’m still able to play the older non-EA games online, unlike with PS3 where a lot of my older online games are useless cause the developers shut down their servers, at least with XBL I don’t have to worry about that.

However though, I’m probably going to download Kameo, kind of always wanted to play the full game after playing the demo on release day.

Disagree with you on the PSN store interface. Yes the default one is terrible and an affront to user-friendliness, but you can change the look of it to a few different ones.
The best one actually mirrors the one we had back on the old Blades dashboard,
it’s a nice vertical list, compact with a little information regarding what you’ve highlighted in the top corner and it wipes the floor with the current “sideways” list we used to have.
The irony is we’ve had that format before, and we did it first!

How about a new dashboard update with a greater focus on games next time?

the amount of bending over microsoft is doing for children lately is insulting. the 360 does have kid games but its not a kids machine (thats what the wii is for) i remember back just after the 360 launch there was this feeling that the 360 is a real badass machine cool dash cool games now everything is exploited for the kids. screw kinect and screw these moronic sales. honestly i still love my 360 but all im looking forward to is halo 4 and black ops 2 this year. 75% off sale is quite bad. like many have said they can be found in the bargain bins at almost any store. myself personally i bought perfect dark zero and kameo for $7 AUS each 4 years ago!

Meh, was going to get Kameo. Saw it was the same price for a disc version so I’ll pass on these deals. Recently rented Dark Void, and glitches make the game not worth the download.

Not if Summer of Arcade has anything to do with it. The deals during that week are always awful as Microsoft attempts to push customers into buying a few overpriced games that are all guaranteed to be half price by the end of the year. Well, 33% off minimum.

I would love to be proven wrong, Microsoft. Just stating what we’ve all come to expect. Surprise me.

Microsoft, I was agaisnt Sony this whole gen with their dirty tactics on
the begining with Ps3 prices, errors, and nerfings on the system. But
right NOW, they are really taking care about player WHO PAY just for
conecting online to play with friends, because remember, we are PAYING
GOLD SUSCRIPTIONS, just to play online and make parties. U can say
whatever u want about deals of the week or demos first for Gold, but
they are GIVING GAMES FREE, and not bullshit games like those on your
list, I mean AAA Games, like Infamous 2, Motorstorm 2, Little Big Planet
2, Darksiders… I mean, they give GAMES, not dummys for hard
    drives….

Well they’re not actually “giving” them to you, because everything “free” on PlayStation Plus is actually a rental rather than a purchase as should your subscription expire you lose your license to play it.

However, another thing they do offer that isn’t oft mentioned is unique discounts, and unlike Deal of the Week the stuff they discount there can be stuff you might actually want to buy. Nowhere near as much Borderlands/Bioshock/RDR cycling.

Also if something is on sale for all customers, PSN+ will one-up that price cut with a larger discount for their paying customers. Most of the Xbox Live sales this year that have actually been any good have been available to those grubby Silver members too, which means that the deal perk of being a Gold member is lost.
An extra slice off on top for Gold members when Silver sales crop up would be nice.

Alas, bringing up any rival service on this blog = instant downvote so whatever.

“These deals will be available in all Xbox LIVE regions where the title is available.”
The disapointment for me is that even if I want to buy some of these games I simply can’t…
6 out of 20 titles are only available on Greek marketplace. Who decides the marketplace content availability? Please do something about it…

Sale?!? This is at most what these games should be priced at anyway. Microsoft’s GoD pricing scheme is absurd, I don’t think I will be extending my gold subscription any longer. At least Sony pretends to care about their customers.

No thanks, most of that list I wouldn’t touch with a bargepole even if I saw it in a shop for that. The stuff there that is any good is stuff I’ve already got, so it’s time for some opinions you don’t want!

Games you should care about are Kameo, Prince of Persia 2008, Rockstar Table Tennis and SEGA Superstars Tennis.
All of these are games worthy of your collection, also Bionic Commando, Dark Void and Perfect Dark Zero are kind of bearable I guess. They’re games you cmay be able to put up with, but you really will be tolerating them rather than playing them.
Dismiss everything else on that list because it’s all tripe.

If you buy Prince of Persia 2008 then Ubisoft might actually give us a sequel to that too, instead of just churning out Assassin’s Creed games year in year out like they have been since 2009. Furthermore, if you buy Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero then you might remind Microsoft that once upon a time RARE made videogames,

Man, how I would love to see another Banjo and Conker game.

It’s a sad fact that the best RARE games on the Xbox are a few XBLA ports of N64 games and the only good retail game starring Banjo and Kazooie was Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing because of their guest appearance.

In an ideal world we would have had Banjo-Threeie, Kameo 2, Jet Force Gemini 2, Conker 2, a new Battletoads and Killer Instinct 3 by now, Fulgore or one of the Battletoads would have guest-starred in Mortal Kombat 9 and we’d have had better new IPs than Viva Pinata and Kinect bloody Sports!

Viva Pinata and Kinect Sports get sequels yet Kameo doesn’t. No justice.

I am deeply disappointed, do you ever seen such a promotion? These games are not worth that price. Live Brazil at the end of last year had a promotion of games to R$19.00 ($ 9.90) and had very, very best games.
