Today we are announcing the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller. I did a quick video (above) that shows a few of the features and laser etched details. I also posted more photos on my Flickr page as well.  The controller will be priced at US $59.99 (MSRP, check your local retailer for pricing) and be available world-wide when the game launches in March. Here is the official press release:

Experience Lara Croft’s First Adventure with the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller

At the 2013 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, Microsoft, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix unveiled the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDERLimited Edition Wireless Controller – the perfect commemorative companion marking Lara Croft’s return to the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Developed in collaboration with artists at Crystal Dynamics, the design of the controller features a two-layer color finish with laser etching to create a realistic and tactile worn appearance inspired by Lara’s iconic climbing axe and the tourniquets that result from the adventure in her intense origin story, as told in this latest title. The controller also features a customizable D-pad that switches from a “plus” design to a “disc” pattern for better control, and a wireless range of up to 30-feet that allows for more freedom in your home environment as you explore and play the game.

In addition, those who purchase the Xbox 360 TOMB RAIDER Limited Edition Wireless Controller will receive a download token for an Xbox 360 exclusive playable TOMB RAIDER character. The controller will be available timed to the launch of the game worldwide and is priced at $59.99 (U.S. ERP).

Available beginning March 5, 2013, built from the ground up for the Xbox 360 and featuring add-on content which will be available first on the platform, TOMB RAIDER explores the intense and gritty origin story of Lara Croft and her ascent from a frightened young woman to a hardened survivor. Armed only with raw instincts and the ability to push beyond the limits of human endurance, Lara must fight to unravel the dark history of a forgotten island to escape its relentless hold. In the all-new TOMB RAIDER a survivor is born.

  • Michael Shawn White

The original tomb raider was my favorite. Playing as a female character just was new and refreshing.

  • Xavier Davin

    The first one, when I discover 3D with a 3DFX. Ok, I’m old 🙂

  • xSilentxHunterx

Anniversary, cause I can play the original and get achievements!

  • Jonathan Esteeves Neasham

Tomb Raider the last revelation. The game had a large focus on puzzles and a story which explored a lot about Egyptian mythyology and culture. A lot of visits to the British Museum where made because of this as well as a study of hierglyphics. For me it was by far the best of the series. It was a fantastic Egyptian adventure and the tombs looked phenomenal. I especially liked how they portrayed Lara as young and inexperienced in the prologue which now this reboot has drawn from, and the inclusion of Werner Von Croy who I think was a great antagonist to Lara and its a shame that they did away with him as they did in AOD. Controller please 🙂

  • Nexxd

The original Tomb Raider. This was the first PC game i brought with my own money and took 2 months of paper rounds to save :).

  • HelloEh

My fondest memories of this series are with Tomb Raider: Legend. This was the first XBOX 360 game I purchased, and so my memories of discovering everything my new console could do are tied together with TR:L and Hexic.

  • iersmeisje

The original Tomb Raider on the Playstation. It really marked this genre, like Uncharted. And a woman playing the main character in a videogame! Girlpower 🙂

  • StormRaging

I’ve never played any of the Tomb Raider games before so I’m hoping this one will be my favorite tomb raider as it looks awesome and the controller would be a fitting addition

  • Werner Sa

Tomb Raider 1 is the best ! Why ? The secrets are the best and unbelievable to find! The eyes are flashed 🙂

  • suttersandman

Tomb Raider 2 – I still remember going to Toys R Us to reserve it. The levels were awesome and I remember getting so excited for every cutscene I unlocked.

  • Holic

Tomb Raider: Underworld because it has improved gameplay. I love the Nordic tradition and explore the underwater world. @elenaredfuz

  • Jordan LeMasonry

‘Underworld’ because the gameplay is such a good blend of action and strategy, and the story is so intriguing! You can’t stop playing!

  • Cong Truong

    Can’t beat the original!

  • Brandon

The new one of course, look at those graphics!

  • DuoMatrix

My fave Tomb Raider is Legend. I was never a fan of the series before it. It had great gameplay and was just fun all around. Became a huge Tomb Raider fan because of it.

  • John Nuber

Tomb Raider 2 was awesome game i remember playin it for days with friends of mine even if it wasn’t co-op we made it that way.

  • Daniel Lučić

Guardian of Light, because it was something diferent. It was fun playing solo, and even more fun playing with a friend afterwards!

  • Daniel Faria

I remember I was 9 and I was looking for something that could take me out of the TOMB that my life had turned into since I sold my Super Nintendo… Then I met Lara Croft and went to the Temple of Xian! Tomb Raider II is my favourite since today! I could say that the dagger changed my life, but it wasn’t really the dagger: it was Lara Croft and her adventures!

  • Frank

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider because of those shorts

  • jaxsedrin

Tough call… Either Legend because it revitalized the franchise or Guardian of Light (if that even qualifies – “tomb raider” isn’t even in the title) because it showed the spirit of the game could successfully transfer to other genres/game types. (twitter: @jaxsedrin)

  • Fred Fredette

The very first one! 🙂 Why? The original game was intended for the Sega Saturn, and I was a big Sega fan. It also was the game I was dreaming of at the time. It was the closest to an Indiana Jones game, and had a hot (if not slightly pointy) heroine. I had a lot of fun with that game.

  • Marcos Ramone

My favorite game of Tomb Raider is THE LAST REVELATION because it was the first that I played and it’s a great game!! Awesome storyline!! 🙂

  • Kyo Yamaguchi

The original Tomb Raider was the best TR for me. The exploration and
Indiana Jones” feel, really made it the most memorable. Don’t forget, at the time there were no games even like it when it released.

The original because that’s the first one I played. Simple as that.

  • Fernando Borges

Tom Raider Underworld because it was more of an epic and exotic gameplay than the others.
