That’s a lot of games for subscribing to PlayStation Plus for just $49.99 a year. This got me wondering… just how much does that $49.99 get you in value? Now that I had all of the free games offered right before my very eyes, a little bit of lazy Googling and lazier mathematics through an Excel spreadsheet I whipped up gave me the answer I was looking for.

Ready for this? In just one year of PlayStation Plus—all the free games pictured up top—are valued at roughly $1854.86.

This is unheard of in the history of consoles. No matter which way you slice it.

You can argue all you want about you not owning them forever, but let’s be real. Most of us gamers have enough games to play without having to revisit every single game we own. Some games are meant to be beaten in a weekend, enjoyed for what they are, and never be touched again.

Put it however you want, that is one hell of a deal.

Plus, if you have to revisit a game after owning it for one year, you should probably buy it. And you would be crazy to not be a PS+ life long subscriber. So I guess, maybe they are yours forever.

Games thru playstation plus are rentals, you don’t actually own them, I had Ps+ and the only free games I got that I got to keep where from when Sony PSN went down for 2 months.

But I thought DRM is the downfall of gaming civilization as we know it? No? Just when MS does it? Ok.

I think more hairstyles and animations would be enough. I don’t care that much about my avatars, but giving more animations so you could make your pic unique would be nice. Also, a bigger field of view for when using a prop. The prop is often way outside the space given for the camera.

only one free game so far this month and not either of the 2 promised. Guess we better take what we can when we can no matter how crappy and useless it is.

I was going to answer you, but you’re long rant is filled with misinformation. It’s basically gamer fanboy rage IMO.

Believe what you want. There’s no difference between Sony or MS. They have both made promises and changed them over the years. Neither company cares more or less. It’s all business. They offer services. Some people like them, others don’t. No need to go ballistic.

No son, you believe what you want.. there is plenty of differences between Sony and MS.. and Sony is clearly more consumer friendly.

      1. Hiding free apps behind a paywall eh? Why is it that on PS3 I don’t need PSN+ to access Netflix, Hulu Plus, You Tube, Cinema Now, Vudu or even the Internet browser eh? Why is it that Sony announced that despite charging for PSN MP (I always thought charging for online MP on PSN would be a good thing) on PS4, YOU STILL DON’T NEED PSN+ TO ACCESS ALL MEDIA APPS?

      2. XBL price hike.. was 50, then it was 60 USD, you better be prepared for another one because it’s inevitable. Sony is less likely to do this based on MS’s overall greedy track record and that’s all that needs to be said. The plain fact that MS thinks they could do this and mindless idiots don’t mind paying for it is just sad. It’s sad that this difference of principles between M$ and Sony is what really differentiates the attitude towards the consumer and yet you STILL FAIL TO SEE THIS? Anyone with any rational thought would read my number 2 point and take notice unless they are completely inept.

      3. MS taking away features and apps such as Netflix parties, Family Gold plan, 1 vs. 100 and many other things without even the slightest notice to the consumer!

And don’t even get me started about everything that has happened since their poorly thought out reveal all the way to their 180 degree turnaround which not only proved that they LIED AND DECEIVED ALL OF US by stating that the DRM couldn’t be reversed when in fact it will be with a day one update?

If you can’t grasp these concepts then you are completely inept and Naive. Even after agreeing with you to a small extent that both companies have done wrong in the past, any logical and sane person will tell you to take a step back and look at MS’s track record throughout the years and then get back to me..
