Xbox Live Gold Members: “Assassin’s Creed II” is yours for Free Beginning Tomorrow

Assassin's Creed IIAs part of the “Games With Gold” program announced at E3 in June, I wanted to give you a heads up the next title will be Assassin’s Creed II. Normally US $19.99, Assassin’s Creed II will be will be free for Xbox LIVE Gold members staring tomorrow through July 30th .

PLUS the following Assassin’s Creed franchise content will be on-sale for the rest of July.

    Why did MS spend more money making kinect than they did the Xbox one, then not make any games for it? Seriously? Ryse was originally motion controlled, now kinect sports is the only motion control game announced for Xbox one? And Its $100 more than ps4 and 33% smaller GPU? Tell us again MS, how gamers don’t know what they are talking about? You are living in an always online connected world MS, you can’t hide the xbone specs from the world, and shove your propaganda down our throats. I know that’s what you are used too, but times have a changed, change with them, or go out of business.

        Critical of them at times, yes. I would prefer that an xbox one be made without kinect. I’m not sure how you can say that makes me hate them. I own both an original xbox and two 360s and have multiple xbox live accounts. I play xbox almost every day I have free time.

        And people act like it was their job defending Microsoft.

        Seriously, you can’t compare Defense Grid, Fable 3 and ACII with Deus Ex HR, Uncharted MP, BF3…

        I do not own a PS3, but the Xbox fanbase is making me wanna buy a PS4 in the next generation. They just accept everything Microsoft throws at them and even try to deffend Games with Gold against PSN+-

        psn+ sucked at beginning. its too early to pass judgment on this program.

        man go to n4g and then you yourself judge who has the worse community.
        we do not defend everything. most of us here hated the restrictions and we arent that positive about kinect(open minded but not positive).
        as a guy who was on the ps3 mostly i have to tell you the xbox community is so much better.

        First off PSN+ you don’t own the game if you stop subscribing they are not playable anymore, whereas the Xbox games are yours to keep.

        If Sony were giving you the games they would offer you not so recent titles.

        Xbox Ultimate Game Sales also give you a lot of recent titles for very little $ so that makes it all add up to an all round better deal over the year for me..

        There is fan boys on both side’s and if your a gamer and not a fan boy it should not matter to you. Any gamer can tell you ps3 and xbox 360 both have there up sides and down sides.

        Pro ps3 free online gaming and can use apps like nexflixs with out ps+ with ps+ you get instant game library, sales on dlc, games and bata.

        Con ps3 unsecured and laggy networks, and if you don’t pay for ps+ you can not play the games from the instant game library.

        Pro 360 more secure less lagyy network with cross game chat.
        Ultimate Game Sales, free games with gold that you can keep with out xbox live gold.

        Con If you don’t pay for xbox live gold you can not play games online or use apps no game chat. games with gold are old but yours to keep.

        No we don’t, but we support the more constructive criticism approach instead of calling people blind sheep like you do (the way you do it even deserves counter trolling IMHO). Yet, the ultimate joke is on PlayStation fanboys for first criticizing MS for taking away ownership and then saying that PSN+, where you don’t own anything anymore, is the best. Games with Gold will get better down the line.
        If you want to join the PS overhype and underdeliver train of doom, be my guest, nobody is stopping you. But before you do, take a look around N4G and read Jim Sterling’s article about PS fanboys before you do. That way you will know what kind of childish and hypocritical parasite community you’ll be joining.

        I agree revelations was an all time low for the series but the characters in total were better. Ac1 was good foe its time. But the series did improve gradually. But for character likenessI feel Iit was more like ezio> altair> >desmond> connor.
        Hopefully ac4 will be better.

    I purchased the ‘Game of the Year’ edition of Assassin’s Creed 2 a few months back. I haven’t had chance to play it yet though, I’m unclear which DLC it already comes with pre-installed (box just says “additional sequences” and “Templar secret locations”).

    Is there any DLC in the sale right now I should snap up? Maybe I’ve got them all for AC2? Anyone know?

      Once a game is in your download history, you own that game. Exceptions are when a game’s licensor changes; e.g. Wolfenstein, which has a delisted Activision version and a current Bethesda version. Even in that case, you can still dig up the older version in your history.

    I bought AC Revelations even though I’ve beaten the game already with my friends copy. It was a pretty good game so why not buy it for 15$? AC R is $15 at my walmart but I decided to buy it digitally through this promotion. I prefer to have the disc but the only reason why I decided to buy it through the marketplace is so I could support this promotion. I want these deals to be successful that way we’ll keep getting discounts in the future.
