Hey, dude! Thanks for the tip!
It worked fine for me as well…😀

I’m really hoping to not face the same issue with the next games…

So in your case, you weren’t even getting Lost Planet 2, you had an IP block. When I talked about the censorship, it was because of gamers in the EU were getting different games. Your problem was indeed an MS problem, I guess they still have to work things out and the region migration either wasn’t enough or was not working right. Sorry if I upset you, I’m glad things got fixed.

        Yes, that was the case.
The thing is: we are getting Crackdown indeed. The other games are only for Germany and not for the rest of EU (here in Poland, for example, we don’t have problems with forbidden or censored games… some of my friends in Germany buy games here or in Austria).

No te preocupes, hombre… there are so many issues and details that sometimes we get lost indeed.

I much prefer the ‘Games with Gold’ promotion, to the PS+ ‘Instant Game Collection’.

Granted they offer newer, more varied games on PS+ but you never actually own them, you just have them as long as you’re a paying member. I like Xbox’s variation more, where you have the game on your hard drive for as long as you have an Xbox account.

I can see why people would prefer PS+ but I prefer Xbox’s idea.

I seriously can’t believe people are finding a way to complain about Microsoft giving away ‘free’ games. Gamers (well, a certain sub-section of gamers) have become such self-entitled, whiny cry-babies, it’s pathetic.

You already have Crackdown? So? And? You paid for it, had it for (presumably the last six years) and have had six years of playing it… THAT’S what you paid for, Microsoft aren’t obligated to make sure that every single gamer is catered to, it’s a promotion for that particular game, for free.

It is irrelevant whether you have the game or not, that’s the game they’re offering you.

I agree with you, the ones who complain must understand that it is a limited time offer.
If this was permanent, I would understand their anger and I do think MS should offer compensations in other cases, like in games that were permanently reduced or in the case of the bundles (for the lucky ones who got to purchase them before they suddenly popped out).

It’s all games they have so far and are going to offer for free. I have already bought & still own all of them.

I asked xbox support nicely at the very start of this promo (less than 2 minutes after announcement of all games) what would for example a set of loyal customers with over 800 retail / 150 XBLA games likely to be offered as their reward / perk of being a GOLD subscriber with them already owning everything documented for this promo. This in the hope they had a plan to offer a replacement to those customers whom have paid subs for 7-10 years and who have got every game they have set aside for this 5 month promotion. Their answer was in the same arrogant manner as yours, i.e clueless.

Another example of Ms not caring about their most valued customers*

*All customers should be valued but come on any business really should make sure to look after those spending on say an average of £30 a game x 812 = £24,360 as well as 10 Xbox 360’s. and say spending over 140,000 Msp

I bet you’re the kinda person who’ll just lie down and happily accept a good kicking. E.g when LIVE goes off for many days and they offer you an xbox arcade game Undertow as compensation (but you’ve already bought it and no substitute was made available but you’ll just accept that) for the loss of many days from your Xbox live subscription, not me I got my stolen days added back onto my account.

Btw Ms answer was to stay tuned regarding the free games until launch of XB1 or 31/12/13 as if that was an answer to the issue.

You really need to get out more, if you’re dropping twenty-five-grand on gaming and have 800+ Xbox games. You’re probably leaving a disgusting sweat patch on your t-shirt just writing that comment and your pasty skin is being burned by the slight glare from this white background on your computer screen.

Microsoft are offering these games FOR FREE, it’s a promotion designed to… Promote Xbox. They’re aren’t rewarding you, you aren’t a dog that learnt a new trick. If you don’t like their policies, stop giving them ridiculous amounts of money. You’re acting like you have no choice in the matter, if you don’t like the way Microsoft do business, don’t do business with them.

Don’t pay them £25,000 for goods and then complain about the company you gave an obscene amount of money to.

The best way Microsoft could reward you, would be to delete your Live account, brick your console and force you to go outside, talk to actual real life humans and possibly fornicate with a female.

Are you kidding me? Man is talking about having 800+ games and still wanting moar? Are you hooked up to a drip and bed-pan and play Xbox 24/7?

meh – do you plan on not having Gold? If not, it’s not an issue. Same with PSN+. Honestly I’d rather have newer and more multitudes of games since I’m paying the same on both systems.

the games MS are offering are not even close to what PSN have been putting out.
they could have pushed the boat out a little and at least gave crackdown 2, which i bought in gamestop for 15,99 a few years ago that is on sale/reduced on the dashboard for 24.99 now.
why would you prefer this over the other? they are the same only PSN has the better newer games.

Other than the fact that we appreciate what is indirectly given, am I alone to remark that inside the sales, including the free games, there are very few, if not any games intended for children or destined to the family ?
Mine includes at least four players, ranging from an 8 years old niece to a dign grandmother, with me in the middle. And would you be surprised that I can hardly find a single game during all the sales and the deals of the week that is not a warfare first-person-shooter, a bloody criminal wrongdoing simulation, a nightmarish zombies survival horror or an unscrupulous assassination reconstitution ?

This is not a critic that seeks conter examples; and I would not want to precise in what several games that are seen as “good for everyone” are not, in reality. This is just an opinion that tells that some important players are forgotten, as well amidst the veterans as inside the families and the young gamers.

So, I assumed that once u download a game its yours even if u delete it from your harddrive u can still redownload it at no additional cost at a later time…. I assumed this because thats what microsoft had said includeing what major nelson has said multiple times. However, keeping that in mind I deleted fable 3 to make room for crackdown. After playing crackdown for a while I decided I didnt like it so I went to redownload fable 3 and low and behold it wants to charge me for it even though I had previousely downloaded it a couple months ago when it was free.

    • roozbeh

Well I can confirm you own it. I bought fable 3. Still haven’t downloaded it. I can still download it.

You played it for an hour and a half and couldn’t get into it? What do you propose they do? Consult you beforehand to give away games that better suit his Lordship’s tastes?

What if they gave away Diablo III, you inexplicably can’t get into it (yet at the same time play it for an hour and a half) and still complain like a child?

What we talking about here? They gave away a game, you didn’t like it, so you’re crying about it on an online comment section. What do you propose they do? Give people free reign to download any two games they like every month? InB4 Xbox games cease to exist because nobody buys them anymore.

I can at least sympathise with the ‘it’s an old, game that I already own’ cry-babies but your argument is completely asinine. It has an 83% rating on Metacritic, it’s not like they’re giving away Mindjack & Vampire Rain.

Crackdown is an awesome game. Make sure you start collecting as many orbs as you can right away so you can power up. The first gang is really easy to take down but after that if you haven’t powered up your dude it gets really hard.

Fable III my type of game definate +3
that tower defence game (your kidding me) -3
    Assassins Creed II =0
(good game but old and most played already wanting extra for the DLC stopped it getting a +)
    Crackdown +1 (good fun)
total so far In My Opinion ! is +1

I’m from Germany and I’m not complaining about the region lock… Not towards Microsoft at least. The only one responsible is the nation and their extremely retarded laws (the game is available about everywhere aside from the biggest country in the EU, great logic there). Also there’s a reason they don’t just hand you new games for free – no one could afford a license for Battlefield 3 for every Xbox LIVE member – PS+ just requires you to pay for the game anyways by having an active PS+ membership for 50 bucks, you can use a 2 day trial on LIVE… I prefer that. Just saying.

    That is not false.
But if those who manage Xbox think that way, they are making a mistake.
With nearly 60 millions Xbox 360 sold and 31 millions Xbox Live suscribers, I could surely guess that there are more than some childrens, teenagers, and more casual players amidst them.

To begin with my own family and my surrounding. From those I know that own an Xbox, I count two that could be included in the apparently targeted customers, and five that seeks the kind of lighter entertainment I mentionned.
