Finding Xbox One this Holiday Season

Since it launched, Xbox One has been flying off store shelves and is sold out at most major retailers. The Xbox team is working hard to meet consumer demand and we are delivering consoles to retailers as fast as possible this holiday season. If you’re hunting for one, you haven’t missed your opportunity. Here are some tips and tricks to finding Xbox One this holiday season – you don’t want to miss out.

  • Sign up for email newsletters and alerts from your favorite retailers and follow them on Twitter and Facebook for real-time updates.
  • Call your local retailers to find out what day of the week they receive shipments. You can check in each week to see if they have new stock.
  • Use retailer’s online stock checkers to find a store with Xbox One in stock near you, although we recommend calling to confirm.
  • Check with stores outside of densely populated areas – you may have more luck in smaller locations.

You can also use tracking sites to help. Here are a few I’ve found:

You can also monitor social media – fans have been helping fans find Xbox One and I will be doing the same. Follow me for regular updates of where to find it this holiday.

  1. Haha so thankful that I got mine on day one. I’d hate to have to run all over the place to find one. Can’t wait for the next batch of games to come out in 2014. Those games that will show off what next gen is cable of.:)

  2. Anyone that wanted one for the holiday season should’ve pre-ordered it. New consoles are notoriously difficult to get ahold of after all the pre-orders. You had to know XBox One was going to be no different (along with PS4)

    1. Did you update? One of the worst things on Christmas is to open something only to spend a long time updating. And it will let you know if you have any problems before then so you could send it in and have it back in time. Then, just box it back up. Unless it is for yourself and you do not want to spoil it. That is usually what I do anyway just so the kids do not have to fool with that stuff.

      1. The update does not take long and I did mine on day 1 when it was probably the most hectic. Doesn’t take more than 20 minutes and I was on DSL.

  3. I read the other day that there where loads of Xbox ones around the place and there was no shortage. this smells like publicity whoring to me..
also I own an Xbox one. got the day one edition, though I was a little disapointed there was nothing different about the actual console, just the controller.

    1. ms overships to some places, hence some x1’s lying around.
it seems as if you are just pointing out anecdotal evidence. for the most part, x1’s are sold out at most retailers.

  4. I know in my area that the One is still in stock but that does not help others. Walmart did have it where you could check the local store stock through the online (although it was not always completely accurate). They had some this morning in all the stores in a 60 mile radius (7 stores) around me this morning. Low numbers though. Same for all the Gamestop stores around here. Same near my sister who lives in another state.

Also, I just checked and Amazon still has some in stock that they listed earlier today. Can get one know with free super saver or Prime, if you have it, shipping.

Tell anyone you know to look and do not believe the stories of a sellout everywhere(although I am sure plenty of places are). I know a guy who was going to pay extra on eBay because he had read it was sold out. Could not believe he was not going to even call around. He was positive he could not find one because MS had said they were sold out everywhere. MS apparently has done a great job of getting more stock out there.

    1. Online to in store stock amounts are pretty much incorrect 98% of the time (which I find strange, it’s not like tech to do it isn’t out there). Amazon had some for like 20 minutes and were sold about again. Yah, there will be small amounts scattered about which is to be expected and you can be darn sure MS is pumping them out as fast as they can.

      1. The annoying thing is I only want to use the Ryse companion app to find the one missing collectible because it only tells me what level the missing one is in is on the app.

I’ve already completed the game twice but missed one on my legendary run.

  5. When a new Xbox is released in another few years, will all games from the xbox one not work with the new console either?. unless an emulator comes out or something
I’m not gonna buy an Xbox one. the 320GB HD on my xbox360 has about 85+ games.

    A quote from Mattrick
“If you’re backwards compatible, you’re really backwards”

Microsoft executives making arrogant and offensive statements like that don’t go down well with me, I’ve spend alot of money on these games, so i should just spend more money on a new Xbox one and forget about my 360 games? yeah sure !!

People who have bought Digital games on the 360 should have the option to download the game on Xbox one for FREE, games that are compatible with Xbox one of course.
For example: GTA IV, Ghosts, BF4, Etc. I’m certainly not paying twice for games!

    1. Show them how much you care about backwards compatibility by getting a Wii U, the only 8th generation console that can run games for its 7th generation predecessor.

  6. Amazon needs to offer digital codes as an option for XBox. Lego Marvels was on sale for $40 the other day and it would have been nice to buy it with a digital code option. So hard to keep to the “only digital” goal of mine

  7. Is it me or is Party chat broken? I can’t join my friend’s parties and they can’t turn on their mic’s on mine. Also — why are there no notifications for party invites?

Something is wrong because I opened up all the ports for Xbox One and my connection is still Strict. I even tried connecting the modem straight to the X1 and still shows strict.

    1. There are notifications for party invites.
Your router likely has a DMZ feature, adding your Xbox One to that will bypass the router’s security. Do you have a modem/router? Most modems are also routers these days, so you’d have to mess with security on that as well.

      1. I added my xbox one ip to the dmz. That should automatically do it, yet it doesn’t. It used to work fine on my xbox 360. If this keeps up I’ll just return the entire console (for another one). Btw. I have comcast, and I even tried setting a static ip on my console but still shows strict. I’m pretty sure it’s the xbox one. All 5 ppl I know that got an xbox one can’t be wrong lol no one can party chat with each other.

      2. Well the chat issue is obviously from NAT conflict. I suppose this could be a hardware issue with your Xbox.If you’ve been able to get open NAT with other devices since you’ve noticed these problems then you should get a replacement.
