Excited to try out bastion – with my current backlog – I couldn’t justify 15, but 3 will do nicely. Few others on the maybe list.

If you haven’t tried DUST at all yet – totally an awesome game… I’d Recommend it.

Great start! I’d personally like to see Resident Evil 4, the Castlevania games, and Deathsmiles 2 hit the $3-$5 mark like some of these. That’d be amazing. Also some fighters would be awesome as well. Persona 4 is a great game, but putting marvel vs capcom origins and darkstalkers on sale would give a much needed boost to their online communities.

I’d like to know when Microsoft is going to address an issue that is eventually going to happen. The issue is when are the Xbox 360 servers going to finally go down and is a very large hard drive going to be released for digital titles? We all saw this happen with the original Xbox but the stakes are higher now because of digitally distributed games.

What’s going to happen when these servers are eventually shut down and we cannot download all the games anymore? As a digital only gamer now I’ve invested a lot into it on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and for each system I own close to 100 retail games respectfully. Are they going to keep the servers up forever or release a massive hard drive to accommodate? I would love to see a 1TB released as I feel that could hold the majority of important titles I own.

    Anything?

P.S – In other news I’m happy to see a Dirt 3 price drop I’ve already bought it. I already own 90% of the rest. Haha

thats not enough. If that was truth. I would never again buy digital copy. In 3 years xbox 360 games will still be relevant and enjoyable. I would say put the servers down when the games really start looking obsolete, which would probably take about 10 years.

ps. I am still planning to play xbox 360 for another 5 years. too many games to keep up with old consoles. I am not even close to getting to the next gens.

Good question. The bigger and scarier question is.. when the servers go down, will they have a plan for the DRM with some downloadable games? You know when you’re not connected to the internet, and some of the games you bought are only trials? That’s what has me concerned. That would be absolutely awful if we lost some of our games just because we cant connect to the the servers.

Games like Indies can only work if on internet, so that’s a goodbye unless they do something.
But considering the time it took them to just get a battery charge viewer on the One, doubt it’ll be soon.

I’m pretty sure games on demand and arcade games have DRM too. It doesn’t do it for all of them. It just picks a random half of your library.. I think.

      • Some guy

Some EA games are online DRM garbage because EA.
But the basic idea is that every games are playable offline on the first console that downloaded them(or has transfered licences).
Outside indies, they just plain require online check.

Makes sense. I never knew that.
Luckily, all of my games on demand purchases are on my Xbox I’m using now. But about more than half of my arcade titles are from other consoles😦
Oh well, I’ll worry about that later.
        Thanks for the info.

You should be able to transfer licenses, but you’d need to redownload your games after so they use the licenses you just imported.

With all respect, maybe I’m missing something important in your question. Please forgive me if it’s the case, but I believe that when servers go down, games you downloaded will work on the console it was first downloaded without the need to be connected. The problem is if you want to play the game in another console. In this case, as you will not be able to download it because the servers are down, I think you will need to copy the game to an USB drive along with your profile and then carry on to play in any other console you want.

he is asking about redownloading. Having 250 drive can fit about 30 games or so. And he claims he owns already 100. Logically he can’t keep all of them on the drive, therefore he needs to redownload certain games at certain times.

I am guessing they will keep the servers up forever. LOL. The best solution in case if they decide close the servers after 20 years, would be letting us download all the content and burn it on DVDs

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Why can’t I buy a bigger hard drive? Dear Microsoft: I can’t buy anything in this sale because my drive is full.

Totally Agree. Maybe Microsoft could at least release an OS update so I can be able to use my 1TB external HD via USB. Currently it is limited to 32GB only.

I currently have USD 320 in my account ready to spend but my 250 GB hard drive has only 15 GB free. I’m very serious about buying five USB flash drives of 32GB each so I can increase my game’s library capacity. Definitely it’s not the best solution but I will end up doing this if Microsoft does not allow me to buy a bigger HD or use my 1TB external HD

Exactly. They really need to lift the 32gb USB limit all together.

Not a great permanent solution for a lot of people. If I got decent download speeds from Xbox Live, maybe I would consider it as a temporary solution. I can only get about 5-7mbps down from them. For comparison, Steam will max out my 20mbps connection. I’m sure there are plenty of people on here with connections far slower than mine. Besides, what do we do in a few years when MS inevitably shuts off the servers for Xbox 360 downloads?

I noticed that I have to plug my ethernet cord into the Xbox 360 to get fast downloads.

By the time MS shuts off 360 servers Xbox Live will utilize that Rio project that streams games to PC, Xbox One, Tablets, and Windows phones.

the point is. You can fit probably 20-30 games on 250 drive. I bet you don’t play at least half of these games. Just delete all of the ones you are not planning to play, and redownload one game if you decide to refresh your memory.

I am in the same situation like you, and I just delete stuff. Redownloading does not cost me anything. I leave xbox running at night and my bandwidth is still fine.

It’s not a great solution, but if you want to keep all of your games locally – you can still transfer them all to a massive USB hard drive (or even your PC) via USB, and just swap them out whenever you want to play them.

        Saves having to re-download them.
