Eh, nothing for me. For anyone interested in any of the “deals with gold” xbox one titles you can usually find them cheaper used.

And you save some HD space. Just saying.

How do you save HD space? You have to install all disc based games on xbox one as well… so it’s the same as downloading it.

Because you can delete it and quickly reinstall it as opposed to dedicating hours to re-download a digital title.

Makes sense to me. Unless it’s Dead Rising 3 which requires that ridiculous update even with the disc, ugh, terrible.

if you hate how companies give caps then you should check out the internet in Nigeria. i spend the equivalent of over 40 pounds a month for an internet connection with a download speed of 170kb awith a 27gig cap. i literally download and store up trial games every time i am back in london so that i can redeem them whenever there is a price drop. just got blackgate deluxe edition. Yep life is funny.

yeah i wish so too especially since the current gen games have very high data requirements when it comes to even day one patch update like that of wolfenstein the new order or even xbox live games like killer instinct 3.

i live in the uk and nigeria but my work is mostly in the Nigeria. it’s a nice place, the opportunities are abundant but i would say they is a tradeoff between the uk and nigeria.the laws, standards and rules protects you almost everytime but in Nigeria, they are easily bend and sometimes everything works as a free-for-all when it comes to the value proposition of products and services in Nigeria which always leaves you with buyer’s remorse. still Nigeria is a nice place but things are so damn expensive here.

That’s too bad. We have Eastlink where I am and they’re the best. Fast speeds no throttling and no bandwidth limit.
Not like their competition Bell who throttles you back if you use too much or they charge you extra.

Oh, I don’t expect them to compete with steam at all. That’d be very hard to do. But, I do expect them to at least try and compete with their direct rival Sony.

They want $30 for the game on sale with gold.
I paid $7.50 for the game on sale with PS+.

That’s a huge gap. Pull yourself together Microsoft!

I see $17.50 and not $30 for the X1. Also when did it go for $7.50? That week it was on sale for $13.49 for the ps4.

Just signed in to my PSN and checked my purchase history I was a bit off it wasn’t $7.50 it was $10.50 (which is still a solid price). The PSN “super hero” sale was in late July.

As for the X1 version it showed up at 40 for me then dropped to $30 after signing in. Logged out, signed back in and now it’s saying $23.99.

Still pretty terrible in comparison.

That’s odd because the sale price is $23.99 so I’m seeing the right price. Up top it says 40% discount which would make it $23.99 because the base price is $39.99.

So you’re getting it cheaper, somehow, feel free to tell me how once you figure it out.

Looks like it is around $27-30, I refuse to buy used games, which even then is $23+. I don’t want to pay that much for HD Remakes. Guess there is always never since Konami prefers Playstation over Xbox

Well, nothing here for me this week.

Unrelated:
I’ve got some Microsoft credits that I need to use before next week (when they expire).
I also want to take advantage of the Xbox Live Rewards promo (buy 3 games $59.99 by Nov 30 – get $20 back).
So, which full price game should I buy?
I love the Assassin’s Creed games – so maybe Mordor?
I love racing games – so maybe Forza Horizon 2?
I love survival horror games – so maybe Alien?
Or maybe there’s another game recently released that would be worth the purchase?

What do you guys think? What’s the general consensus?

Honestly I can only speak to the xbox one versions but you can’t go wrong with either mordor or forza horizon 2. I’m just about to 100% shadow of mordor about 35 hours in and I’ve had a blast with it.

I haven’t played forza as much but once I’m done of this I will definitely be jumping back in because what I have played is absolutely incredible. One of if not the best racing games I’ve ever played. I love how it’s just perfectly in the middle between Sim and arcade. It’s gorgeous, there’s a ton of cars, the campaign is actually really good and the online is fun.

As for alien, I can’t help with that unfortunately. I bought it today, but haven’t had a chance to play it yet. I don’t like having too many games on the go at once.

There’s also another one, not sure if it’s your type of thing or not but sherlock holmes released last week as well and it seems pretty cool. I’m yet to get into that either though.

Both Alien Isolation and Forza Horizon 2 are great games. I purchased these and I’m now in the same position as you. My third game will either be The Evil Within or Sunset Overdrive.

Anyone have any input as to whether the arkham origins season pass is worth a buy? I enjoyed the game.. not as much as arkham city or asylum though.

I enjoyed the single player content for Arkham Origins quite a bit, which is good because that was my main reason for buying it. The new tech gives a different and fun feel to the game, I haven’t touched the challenge maps I think.

If it can help (you, of course), maybe you could use a general prepaid “gift-card”.
I admit that you could lose a bit of fee for it, but it is usable for other things too.
(The only question is wether you could erase it from your account after, or not.)

I highly recommend the Lego Movie game over the Lego Marvel game, especially if you are new to Lego or not super into Marvel. It’s a better game in many ways.

I was about to buy Ground Zeroes on X1 for that price, but then I realized for half price, I also get half the resolution, basically. I did buy Blackgate on 360 though because 3 times more expensive on PS3 is not worth the Platinum vs 400 GS. Yeah I’m crazy like that.

Is resolution the only thing you consider buying a game, if so wait for the steam version to come out in 4K on ultra settings.
The xbox one version runs at either 720p/900p which still looks pretty damm good.

I heavily recommended grabbing the Souls series on this sale, honestly they are some of the greatest games ever. They are fair but challenging, rewarding, huge amount of content and the lore is pretty solid as well.
If your on xbox one get MGS, at that price it really I reasonable, there’s a lot more content than you think.

Does someone know if the GoD version of Arkham City is bundled with the Catwoman missions or is it only in the disc version?

I live in Canada and I bought the GoD version of Arkham City about 6 months ago (whenever it was last on sale) and I was able to download had the Catwoman pack without any problems. Some people might think that it’s included with the original download, but you actually have to download it from the menu, but it’s free. It’s a great game, enjoy!

I don’t know anything about the Witcher series, but given the sale price, it’s more a question of time than $. I don’t usually like playing long games that take more than 25hrs, unless they have a great/fun story (Fallout3, ME series). Any strong arguments in favour of “Witcher 2”?

Also, any recommendations for MK9? I used to play the MK series back in the 90’s, but I haven’t touched them in many, many years because my friends and I got into the Street Fighter series instead. However, for the price of a good beer, I’m thinking it would be worth it… thoughts?

Witcher 2 can take anywhere between 12 and 20 hours to beat the main questline, I recommend it for the price. Its the most detailed and immersive RPG I’ve played.

True, but most first play throughs take roughly 2 hours, my first play through took 1hr 20 minutes. My fastest run is 6 minutes 35 seconds. With games like this it’s not about the length its about the replay ability and ground zeroes is highly replay able.
